5 stars for the price.
I just picked this up for the Sony A7RII so I could use my Nikon lenses. If you're thinking of doing the same. Here's what you should consider.1. This obviously does not allow autofocus. A great deal of the cameras features are disabled when in manual focus mode.2. Do your lenses have aperture control rings on the outside? If yes, then you're good. If no... then consider this. My Tokina 11-16 mm lens did NOT have an aperture control ring. When it's taken off the camera body, the aperture closes down to whatever the minimum is (f22) or something. In order to use this lens with this adapter... I have to jam a piece of trash in the lever to keep it from closing down. In retrospect, I probably should have gotten an adapter with an aperture control ring, some of which are only like 20 dollars more.Build is solid. I don't feel any loosening. The release mechanism is a bit awkward, but it'll do. I thus far have not noticed any issues with the images or focus. For the price, this get's 5 stars because it simply works.

Affordable way to put Nikon Glass on a Sony
Very affordable item. The build is solid. No frills and all manual operation, but if you have a lot of Nikon lenses and are comfortable running manually, this is a good way to put that glass into service on the Sony.If you only have very lightweight Sony bodies and have some heavy Nikon lenses that you want to use with a tripod, then selecting an adapter with its own tripod mount may be better unless the lenses have their own tripod mount. For my lightweight Sony a5000 and a5100 I think the lens mount in the camera would break before the Fotodiox adapter would even flex - weakness of those cameras and not the adapter.

Buy it. Just buy it.
Honestly, I thought this was going to be plastic on the e-mount end based on the pictures. Nope! It's solid metal! So far I've tested my e series 50mm 1.8, sigma 35-105 macro, and a behemoth of a lens, the Nikon 28-70 f2.8. all of the lenses work flawlessly with this adapter on my Sony a6000. The 50mm and 28-70mm are razor sharp (well, the fifty is razor while the zoom is just sharp), and the sigma is just as sharp as it was on my Nikon em. There is a little bit of wobble, literally 0.5mm or about 1/64", but the lenses all feel secure. I'm glad I went with this adapter.

Great product. It works. My Dad & I still don't talk tho.
I do wish the adapter was a matte black texture & slightly lower profile towards the film plane but I understand there's a technical reason but I'm spoiled and I eat garbage.Otherwise, great product. I highly encourage everyone to use vintage lenses. Why? They have character not produced in today's lenses AND they have distance scales/markers printed on the lens. Why is this important? ZONE FOCUSING. It allows one to set a predetermined focal point at a specified aperture. This avoids the need to focus. Slap a wide angle lens on (28mm), set to f/16 and 2ft to infinity will be in focus. This is how the old street photogs got away with them sneaky ass compositions with no lag.Go on & GIT an adapter and pop off.

Not bad for the price.
I bought this adapter along with the Fotodiox adapter for minolta lenses for use with my NEX-5N. The adapter is well made and works. You can remove the tripod mount if you wanted to by unscrewing the two screws that attaches it to the adapter. I would rate it higher but there is some movement between the Nikon lens I attached and the adapter. It doesn't move a whole lot but is kind of annoying. There isn't any play between the NEX and the adapter though. A side note, the Minolta adapter to nex adapter I bought from Fotodiox doesn't have any play.

Disappointed! But quickly corrected.
Works fine as an adapter but the unit received did not include a "built-in tripod mount" as specified in the description and as shown in the pictures. Having a tripod mount was the reason I had selected it to handle long telephotos. I was planning to use Loctite to secure the screws holding the mount since several have complained that these easily become loose.Edited comment on July 7th, 2013:I contacted Fotodiox, expressing my disappointment. The response was immediate, offering to replace with a different unit that did include a tripod mount. This unit has now been received and includes a mount that is permanently and strongly attached, not using two small screws as in other similar adapters. I have returned the other one. If you are ordering this adapter while having the tripod mount feature in mind I suggest you contact Fotodiox through their web site in order to check actual availability. I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars.

Cheap way to use those old Nikon F lenses.
Fit was perfect for the three old Nikon F non-AI lenses I've tried so far. The fit was not so tight that removal from either lens or camera body was difficult. I used it with a Sony Nex-5 camera. I was immediately shooting pictures focusing with both the MF and 'high light' method. I have not yet subjected any images to close scrutiny but will do so. Will be using with 24 mm, 35 mm, 105 mm, and 200 mm Nikon lenses. My film camera stable includes three totally manual Nikon Fs plus the indicated lenses. It will be satisfying to pull out these old lenses and use them again--the construction of the 60's and 70's is so much nicer than the plastic we see in new lenses.

Perfect for fitting Nikon lenses on my Sony Nex-7
I bought the small Sony Nex-7 because I was tired of hauling my Nikon around. But I wanted to keep a couple of my specialty Nikon lenses, even tho they look monstrous attached to the Sony. This lens adapter works flawlessly, once I figured out how to remove the lens from it (slide the nurled nob back and forth, don't press it in). The camera electronics are not going to come thru the adapter (auto focus, aperture control, etc.)to the lens, but that is of little import because I use my Nikon lenses for landscape work, where manual focus and aperture is easy. The "red line" Sony manual focus assist does come through (be sure to enable the "release w/o lens" function in your "settings" menu, so that your non-Sony lens will be functional). A soldily built accessory, good value for the money.

Es made in China.
