Pleased and Surprised
1. I received the chips a couple of days late. 2. Tested all of the chips and they all function perfectly. 3. There is no cycling on/off they say functioning as long as power is applied. (I have bought Peltier Chips that would cycle on and off every few seconds.) 4. I have not put them through all of their paces yet, but, temperature differential seems to be around 80 to 100 degrees F, cool/hot. (I will post additional test results later, such as: -Temperature reading over time, cool and hot. -Current draw 5. All of the chips were 1.5" square. 6. All of the chips arrived in good condition, no chips, cracks, or missing leads. 7. The packaging they arrived in was adequate. (Bubble pack, groups of 5 secured together, double bagged, each piece properly identified.) Overall I am pleased with the quality of these chips. I've ordered many things made in China that exhibited 3 or more defects out of 10 pieces so you can say that I am surprised as well. I would recommend these to a purchaser based on this sample. As always, Buyer Beware!

Arrived in good order and working...
These just arrived. They were all loosely packaged in a small box. None were broken but they probably could have been packed a bit better with a small piece of bubble wrap or foam just to ensure the Peltier devices didn't move around so much and to ensure they arrive unbroken. Like I said, mine were all in good shape. Just randomly tested 3 of them and they seem to work just fine. Great price for these. I'm excited for my project I have planned these!

If looking for a cooling element that you just plug in and it gets cold, This doesnt work that way.
one side gets cold relative to the temperature on the hot side. So if you just plug this in alone, you will feel the cold side get cold after a couple seconds and the hot side gets hot. after a few seconds the hot side will get so hot that the entire Peltier turns hot and acts like a heating element. Like I said it will be relatively cooler than the hot side. So if you don't keep the hot side cool, than the cold side wont be cold. If the hot side is hot, the cold side will be cooler than the hot side, but not enough to cool something. You will need a massive heatsink and fan compared to the size of the Peltier plate itself. In my application, 1 of these takes about 10x the amount of heatsink to keep it cool enough for the cold side to be cold enough for my application. Although if you are using this as a heating element it works just plugging it in. if you are trying to use this to turn heat or cold into electricity, that also will work without modification. hope that helps.

Works nicely
GREAT for playing with projects heats& cools nice with 12volts

Inconsistent and over-rated
Here is testing with a large CPU heatsink and fan on the hot side and nothing on the cold side inside an 80+ degree shop = Not counting the one dead one, the worst one draws less than 2 amps and only cools to 60 some degrees. The best one takes 3 amps and cools to 24 degrees. Most are drawing around 2.7 amps. With 3 of these running together on a 200x69x36 mm heatsink on both sides (with a fan only on the hot side), the cold heatsink gets to around 50 degrees and the hot heatsink gets to around 100 degrees. They do cool down very fast (without any heatsink on the cold side), which is great. I bought them to try to make a 12VDC cooler. We'll see how they hold up being on 24/7. I will try to revise my review once I see the longevity - I may add a star if they last and remove at least one if they don't. Make sure you are keeping the hot side cool enough - even with a pretty good-size heatsink, they very quickly get too hot without a fan. If the hot side is too hot, the cold side gets hot as well.

great value
I have paid more for a single cooler in the past. These seem a little less powerful but work well none the less

Good TECs
Good TECs. Buying consumer-level TECs in bulk always seems to involve a few non-working units, but we've ordered from this supplier twice and have yet to find a bad one. Cooling ratio seem very consistent between units too.

They all worked well
I was expecting only half of them to work, but they all worked well. I used these in a science fair project to create electricity from a temperature differential. I was fairly easily able to get about 1.5 volts from each plate. I was very pleased. The other science fair participants were impressed with how much electricity we were able to get from all 10 plates.
