SubaruGas Fuel Cap for Forester Impreza STI WRX - 42031AG000 - Genuine OEM

Great fuel cap and a genuine Subaru part. I didn't realize that the clip that secures it to the car is not included so remember to also order a Fuel Fill Gas Cap Door Clip P/N 42037FE060.

This gas cap worked like a charm! On my 2011 Forester my check engine light as on as well as my VDC light(solid) after lots of research to try and avoid a trip to the mechanics, i decided to try replacing my gas cap as I kept reading that could be the problem. I did as such and my check engine light and VDC light went off immediately once I started my car. I am defy doing a happy dance! I also read a comment that it doesn’t come with the connector that attaches to the gas door, mine did come with it just to let y’all know!

I have a 2013 Subaru Forester and after reading the reviews, i ordered this part because the previous gas cap bought at another store did not work, my engine light, cruise control and traction lights would not go off. We did a reset, drove the car 100 miles after putting this cap on and the annoying lights stayed off. The best part...my car passed inspection! I will most likely order a back-up, just in case.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! This cap saved me a trip to the mechanic which also save me money. My 2011 Subaru Forester has a check engine light (CEL) on for about 3 weeks. I went to Autozone for the computer to read it. The result, a probably loose gas cap. I retightened it and had no luck. The CEL stayed on. After reading other users brag on this, I decided it was worth the shot to save some money. BAM!!! Within 24 hours no more CEL. I love it and so glad I bought it.

... if you want a check engine light on your dash then this is for you. I replaced my original cap with this one because the leash on my original cap broke. This cap immediately caused the check engine light, traction control light and cruise light to appear and this is the gas cap failure signal. I gave it while to see if it would work itself out but no such luck. This sucks.

Can you believe that you still need to purchase the small black clip separately?! I thought this would come as a complete package. It doesn't. I did get the clip on ebay and everything is fine now. Work as it should.

I bought this because my original cap was deteriorating, causing warning lights to come on. After ordering, I went to the local auto parts store and purchased a generic one thinking of it worked, I would return this one to Amazon. The other worked for about a day before my lights came on again. So glad I didn’t cancel my order.

I'm giving this high reviews, even though it did not fit for my 2005 Subaru Forester. Looks like an oem product, and I'm sorry that I have to return it because I can't find the one that will fit my model and year of vehicle.
