Q: How many cups of coffee can size 8 make?

One cup! You have to put in some vegan coffee creamer to the 8oz extract, and then boil the water and add just the hot water to make 1 cup of hot coffee. And the amount of ground coffee to put in depending on how strong the extract you want to make. I use 3 full teaspoons of ground coffee before screwing it down. You may try that, then reduce or add more, depending on your taste.

Q: I can't get the filter insert out of the chamber. It came pushed all the way down and is stuck there. Is there some trick to it?

To take the filter out, turn the screen handle counterclockwise to unscrew.

Q: Why does it leak and water pours straight thru

It’s designed to allow the water to flow through. Make sure the top filter plate is snug against the coffee grounds. Only add a few drops of hot water to allow the coffee to “bloom”. After about 10-12 seconds, loosen the top plate completely, but leave it sitting on top of the grounds. Fill the phin to just below the top with hot water. At this point the water should start trickling through.
