Just delivered. Connected batteries. Switched both on. Shows by tone if there is a break in the wire. Comtinuity works as well,shows if all is well in that particular wire. Thank you.

My first boss in 1975 built a unit to do what this does. It was an absolute must for us tracing cable faults (open and short circuits). Ok. So I bought this AFTER I had already found the fault the slow hard way, but now looking forward to something failing again and having just the right tool. :)

Would be simple to use if it had some usable instructions. The time saved with the tool has been eaten up by researching how to connect it up. Apart from that it works on the bench but I have doubts about its accuracy.

Got this to detect a line break on a robotic mower installation. Did not help at all, instead I wasted about 1.5hrs trying to get it to work. - not able to hear a tone on the wire once a couple of meters away from the transmitter, I even tried attaching headphones - the continuity check feature does not work, it said there is continuity (I.e. no break) whereas my accurate multimeter correct reports no continuity.

Wanted this to help me to locate a line break in my robot mower perimeter wire. Was not sensitive enough to detect the wire at all unless it was above ground, so no good for this purpose. Amazon refunded me and I switched it for a Noyafa NF 820, which did the job.

Bought this specifically to locate a break in a boundary wire for a Gardena robot mower (made by Husqvarna). I wasted hours trying to find it without a tool, but within 10 minutes of hooking this thing up, found the source of the break nearly 100 feet away from the loop. The signal had grown quite weak by then, but was still detectable if the sensor was placed next to the wire. I’m sure this thing will come in handy for future repairs to the boundary wire, as well as wiring issues on vehicles. It did include a pair of 9V batteries, but I think one of them died within a few minutes of use, so probably best to hand a new set on hand.
