Phillipps' Field Guide to the Mammals of Borneo and Their Ecology: Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, and Kalimantan (Princeton Field Guides)

This is much more than a typical field guide. Its treatment of the ecology and co-evolution of the mammals and the plant community is very informative. I especially enjoyed its inclusion of human ecology along with that of the other mammals native to Borneo.

Good layout with plenty of drawings and maps, and some natural history and tracks. It has everything I need for trekking in the jungle. It didn't get 5 stars because it is a little heavy.

Extremely well written guide which covers range maps, excellent art work of the mammals, as well as fairly comprehensive notes on theecological interface of the mammals with their environment.Time spent studying this book pre-trip will definitely be rewarded by us not having to spend time."checking on this or that" after our arrival in Borneo.

We got this book just before our trip to Borneo. Was an excellent primer on what to expect in terms of mammal life and the local ecology; super illustrations as well as information abut actual habitat. Glad we got it.
