Wayne Dalton Torquemaster Spring - Convert Original to PLUS Upgrade Spring and Parts / 7 ft high / Between 80 - 89lbs - Single spring. Heavy duty 10,000 high cycle life replacement spring plus upgrade kit for 7ft tall Wayne Dalton Garage Doors using the torquemaster spring system. This specialty spring is made only by Wayne Dalton for their Torquemaster TMS garage door system. This kit includes easy to follow DIY installation instructions, the correct size plus style TM3 replacement spring(s) for your door weight, and the compatible winding assembly and cable drum kits to convert the original TM1 springs to the newer style plus springs. This is all you need to make the switch from the original to the plus style torquemaster springs. To order, you must know the height and weight of your garage door. Measure door height or find the label on the metal spring tube listing your door dimensions. For doors 6'6" - 7'5" choose 7ft height. For doors 7'6" - 8'2" choose 8ft (available on our other listing for 8ft doors). The most important information when ordering a spring is your garage door balance weight. Springs are specifically rated for a range of door weights, so this detail is required to receive the correct spring replacement. Usually the weight is listed on a label located on the metal tube. If it isn't you can use a bathroom scale to weigh your door. Make sure all spring tension is release prior to weighing. The cables must be fully slack on both sides to insure you are getting the full weight on the scale. Once you have the weight, select the weight range that your door weight falls within. If you select a higher or lower weight than your actual door weighs, the spring you receive may not work.

works great !!
Actually ordered these direct from Express garage door at same price. Arrived in 3 days! followed instructions which were good. 7' door 175#, 2 springs. As noted, the newer springs were 1' shorter than old ones. Door works and sound very quiet now. Also ordered the new style operating bracket which bolts to and in between 2 ribs of upper panel...much stronger purchase on the door than original plate, which ripped out of the top panel. Hope it lasts !!!

Job done!
This worked perfectly. Our old one had two springs, but it turns out they don’t make two for 7’ doors anymore. We installed this one and it was successful. Fairly easy to do, you tube videos helped a lot. I contacted the customer service a couple of times and received almost an immediate reply. Very thankful for that. That being said I can’t believe how much they charge for these things. Good luck

novice can do this
This was a dreaded project I put off till it had to be done. Heard so many stories about possible harm to me and other equipment I was afraid to tackle it. I had the old style torquemaster one with a spring broke. Having trouble finding parts for that I decided to up grade to the "plus". The new springs came with all the small parts assembled which was a nice surprise. Nothing to screw up with those. Color coded spring ends to help with left and right positions and easy to follow instructions. Over all I was happy and now have new springs and new knowledge.D C.

Poor quality.
Our Wayne Dalton garage doors are about 12 years old. All the springs have failed multiple times; roughly every four years. The last failed four years ago (too the exact month), was replaced by W.D. springs and failed again this week. The springs in the second door have also failed and been replaced. We've also had to make several repairs to the doors themselves (hardware ripping out of the door during normal operation and the control buttons just breaking apart). Frankly, for the price W.D. charges, their hardware is ridiculously low quality.
