Laila Longer Basmati Rice 5Kg

This is the best Basmati I've tried, and I've tried a few, nice long grains and a lovely taste, and buying these large bags is exceptional value.

MY FIRST QUICK COOK TEST! Rice separates beautifully. See my Katsu fridge raid veg curry pic! For this quick testing to gauge it's initial performance , I simply used one chefs ladle of rice into a big saucepan, add running cold water and rinse a couple minutes. Fill pan with cold water, 1 inch from top of pan, salt water, stir with silicone spatula, lid on , high heat . Bring water to a rapid boil. Be around to catch boiling point . When rapidly boiling stir gently with spatula, TURN HEAT OFF. Put The Lid back On, time x4 minutes. After time , stir gently again, then drain in colander, let the rice rest for 15 minutes in the colander, put a lid on the colander, (anything to trap the residual steam of the hot rice , as that steam will finish it off cooking and aid perfect separation) You can cook a quick Katsu curry in that time. "Yes Chef!" 😀 It's the first time I used Katsu curry paste too. Easy quick. Very economical. (Bulk buy 10 packs) As pic shows , the rice has lovely separate grains , you do not need to nudge these rice grains around to separate ,they just get on with it themselves! I'll be buying more prime week. I'll also do a video when I next cook it at weekend. This does cost a few quid more but , if you like decent rice that performs , you of course deserve it. These are the best Basmati rice I have used so far. I have used Laila rice in green packaging and in black packaging but this new gold basmati outshine both of them. They are gorgeous and on an afforadable price too. Just ensure to keep the rice/water ratio right and they will taste divine. Personally, I use 1 cup of rice and 1 and half cup of water to cook all dishes (provided rice has been washed and soaked in water for 30 minutes). I cooked lamb pillao and it turned out the best pillao ever.
