Apparently other reviewers cannot read. The instructions and a large tag attached to the gate state that the gate will not line up to latch UNTIL IT IS INSTALLED WITH PROPER TENSION. The gate is not bent. Following the installation instructions was simple.The only thing I would advise is that you do not attach the wall cups until you make sure the gate will close properly. If your doorway is not plumb, you may have to adjust the placement, but you won’t know that until you adjust the tension. You can’t adjust the placement if you install the wall cups first.Also, this is not a self closing gate.

Able to extend this gate out to fit an extra long wall space or fit a regular door jam! Very functional!

PROS: Very sturdy. Assembly is easy. It comes with everything you may need (adhesives, screws, wall protector, tool) and the instructions are clear. I was able to do it by myself, and I even messed up at the beginning by cutting the zip tie that had the note to cut it at the end only. I attached the gate to the wall using the adhesives and the wall protectors, I did not screw the gate to the wall.CONS: It advertises that you just have to slide the mechanism at the top and push the gate door open in order for it to open. That is a lie. You also have to pull the gate door up, since the two bottom stoppers prevent the gate door from sliding freely in either direction. So what you end up finding out is that in the process of pulling the gate door up, the metal hinge of the door will screech like a banshee. I got around this by putting a little bit of oil around the top hinge. But I'm still pretty annoyed that I have to pull the gate door up in order for it to open, so what I have been doing is just go over the gate (30 inches tall, I'm 5'4").

The media could not be loaded. This is a great gate for a standard staircase or doorway where that you are frequently opening and closing the door. It has a very easy one-hand latch for adults but it is still much too hard for my toddler to use, which is perfect. It is very sturdy & safe once installed properly - always follow the directions! The price point is great for this product.

This meets all of my expectations. I read through a lot of reviews before deciding on this one. I wanted something sturdy that would last as a pet gate for my gf's Dachshuahua whom I'll be dog sitting a few times a week now. She's still learning to get along with my Bengal and I wanted them both to be able to have a safe space.This gate seems well made and no way either of our pets will be breaking this one. Just need the other larger one I ordered to arrive now.I would also add, this seems like it would be good for toddlers as well. The catch can be undone with one hand, though a bit tricky. 2 hand operation might be easier for some.The mount cups for the pressure fit screws are ok, but I recommend ordering some of the Wall Nanny rubber ones instead. Much better grip and protection.

We've had Regalo gate for a few years. Regalo is a great gate if you don't have a determined dog like we do. Our Boxer kept snapping it open. If he leaned his paws up to the top of the gate, his weight would push it out of the doorway. We had to attach another gate with a bungee hook as you can see in a second picture. We replaced the gate a few times because our Boxer kept breaking it Even with a new Regalo gate, we had to keep using that 2nd gate with the bungee hook on both gates to prevent him from pulling the gate open.This SUMMER gate is freaking AWESOME!!! I've only had it a couple of weeks but I've not had to use a second gate yet. Appears our boxer has not figured out how to open it. We've turned the gate around so it opens differently and it's more difficult for him to snap it open. The gate is strong enough for him to get up on it and lean and push on it and bark at whoever he wants to. It holds vert strong and it STAYS IN the doorway. Most highly recommend this gate especially if you have an escape artist Boxer like we do. Our kitchen is now safe so no more old trash, bags of baking flour or breakfast cereal on the rug, for now..lol!!! Thank you SUMMER!!

Places it at the bottom of the stairs and keeps the kid from going upstairs. Easy to install

My father had a stroke, is mobile but slow. He forgets he can’t go upstairs. The catches such that he can’t open it easily so works well for him. Easy to install.

Baby gate - worked perfectly and easy to assemble.

Used it on the back deck, with a slight modification so our cats stay on the deck.

We purchased these gates for a small puppy (4lbs at the moment). Her head can fit through the bars, but not her shoulders. We had a challenge finding a gate, as it needed to be pressure mounted on a glass staircase railing. This model works very well and holds very securely. Would it confine a full grown lab forcing pressure on it, I'm not so sure. I feel confident it will work for a 20lb dog. I have only noticed one negative aspect. It is quite loud while opening and closing, so if it was to be used near a sleeping baby, it definitely could waken that baby. Obviously not an issue being used for a dog.

Easy to install, lock is great for dogs, great height and aesthetics
