Excellent Quality Water-Bath Canner
This is my first Water Bath canner and I can tell you the body is built from quality stainless steel. I bought it new & the price seems reasonable. It was packaged in a very sturdy box. The photo online shows the canner will hold 9 standard pint-sized jars. Silly me; I only use wide-mouth jars when canning food & it didn't occur to me that the pint-sized wide-mouth jars are shorter & wider than the standard pint-size jars. Note to self (& others); only 8 wide-mouth pint-sized jars will fit into this canner. I used it on a gas cooktop. Setting the water level, heating up the jars and keeping them hot while filling them was easy. When I lifted out the rack of filled jars after processing, the rack felt sturdy and securing it onto the rim was a snap. The entire process was a great experience for me and I'm looking forward to canning additional jams, jellies, butters and sauces. It will be interesting to see how many wide-mouth half-pint & quarter-pint jars will fit. Up till now, my canning experence was limited to using a pressure canner, which I purchased several years ago to can tuna. This year, after using the pressure canner as a water-bath canner for a couple of sauces and butters, I decided to purchase a dedicated water-bath canner and I'm very pleased with this unit.

Exceeded my expectations!
Got try out my new canner yesterday, and it is awesome!! The insulated handles on the pot and lid, make it both comfortable to handle when it's hot, but add texture to the grip so there is no slipping. It is quite large at 21+ quarts, and when filled with enough water to cover 8 half pint mason jars (it will hold more) it is definitely heavy, and being able to have a solid grip when it's hot or cold is nice! However one potentially negative aspect of its size is the space it takes up on the stove top. I have a 6 burner range and you can see in the picture, there's not much in the way of room next to it. With a 4 burner unit, you might struggle to get more than one other pot on the stove at the same time. The pot measures 13" outside diameter at the bottom. The rack is super nice as it not only holds the jars off the bottom during the bathing portion of canning, it makes it really nice to lift them all out together and suspend them over the water. The handles of the rack are obviously not insulated, so you need to think about how you're going to grab them when you're ready to lift the jars out of the hot water. Another nice feature is the glass lid, which allows you to see when the water reaches a rolling boil, so you can accurately time your process! All in all this canner lived up to all the hype, and then some! Makes me almost wish I had an excuse to try it out as a stock pot, but my dining room table won't seat that many people! It can easily act as a great stock pot in addition to being a great canner! I am super happy with this purchase ... LOVE it!!

A perfect replacement for a worn out old canner
About 30 years ago I bought an old enamel ware canner at a yard sale for $3.00. It had served me well, but with time the enamel became chipped and eventually so badly etched inside that it was time to retire it. I went looking for a nice stainless canner to replace it and found this one. The reviews had me a little concerned. But on receipt all is well. It will be perfect. It has a nice, thick, heavy bottom that should resist warping and a vented glass lid that will hopefully keep it from spitting water onto my stovetop. The insulated handles are also much appreciated. Because it's Stainless it will be rust and chip free and easy to care for. The bottom is nice and flat, though I use a Wolf gas stove, so it's precision isn't as important to me as it might be for someone with an induction range. I have doubts about the rack, I saw nothing saying that it's stainless and it appears to be plated. I anticipate it rusting a bit soon after a few uses. Though I haven't used it yet, I feel confident that it will serve me for the rest of my canning seasons to come. It arrived in perfect condition. It appears I was luckier than some folks in that respect. The packing needs to be improved to protect the glass lid. It's simply turned upside down in the pot with nothing between but a plastic bag to protect it. It's no wonder folks are getting pots with shattered lids. A simple piece of cardboard nested between the two would be an easy solution. I would most certainly recommend it.

Well made
Works well for an induction cooktop made strawberry jam for a wedding using this pan. Looks like it will hold up nicely for many years!

Good Product, slight manufacturing issues
This was overall a good buy. Nice sturdy pot and large enough to accommodate 8 pints at once. I like that the rack rests on the pot. My 1st order arrived quickly but the lid was damaged and I assume this was a packing issue. I couldn't return just the lid for exchange and had to send the whole item back. The replacement order arrived within a few days and low & behold, this lid was also damaged. At this point, I believe this must be a manufacturing issue as the damage was identical to the 1st lid I returned. I'll just keep it and hope that there will be no issues going forward.

Looks Great and Slightly Larger than Comparable 21 Quart Graniteware Canner
We have used a Graniteware 21 Quart Canner Kettle for many, many, many years, but it is finally starting to severely rust. So, it was time for a rust-free replacement. Amazon carries a number of these stainless steel canner kettles from various importers at fairly comparable prices. So, I picked this one as it had a lot of favorable reviews. This is a tentative review, but it looks great. It is slightly larger than the Graniteware 21 quart unit, which holds 7 pints. This one is rated for 9 pints. The lift basket does not have dividers, so if you are canning less than 9 and want to be sure the pint jars stay upright, you may have to add jars with only water to take up space. This kettle looks great, with no dents or damage. Only time will tell if we get 30 years out of this one. Probably the biggest hazard is accidentally dropping the glass lid and breaking it.

Once the water was boiling, I did find one small side of the pan where it met the lid was not perfect, hence the condensing steam ran over the hob. Otherwise great pan

Been using this canner for 2 years now. Working very well. Big, solid, stainless steel. No weird marks from our hard water, which is nice. I can barely fit 7 quart jars in, not sure how they do it in the product picture. I am very happy with this product, and I will be using this for many more years, I am sure.
