works great
2006 sprinter 2.7L Dip stick works great. About 4 inches sticking out of the tube after it is bottomed out on the inside of the trans pan. It accurately measured the fluid on the stick.

You need this to check the automatic transmission fluid level on Mercedes with "lifetime fill"
My 2001 Mercedes ML320 did not come with a transmission dipstick to check the fluid level. There's a fill tube, but it has a cap attached. At the time was first sold, Mercedes claimed the transmission was a "lifetime fill" and never needed to be changed, or fluid added. This is just marketing speak; transmission fluid will wear out or become contaminated eventually, shortening the life of your transmission. I bought this truck recently and changed the fluid, what drained out was very dark and almost black, certainly due or maybe overdue to be changed. This is a "universal" dipstick. It's long enough to serve for many different vehicles. In my truck, it still sticks out about a foot when it's fully inserted, so it can't be left in place after use. I just put the cap back on the tube. The important part is the plastic tip which tells you the level of fluid. The level should be checked with the vehicle running, in Park. The plastic tip has minimum and maximum marks for 25 degrees C (cold) and 80 degrees C (hot) levels.
