I don't know the actual care instructions. If it were me, I would just use a soap and water mixture by hand. I haven't had to wash ours yet because we haven't had to use it in a real life scenario. It is a no brainer though if you are headed on a mountain trek, back country type outing. We used them for our wilderness first aid training for scouts-very handy. Its always in my pack now when on a scout trip.
