Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This is a very cute coloring book for cat and dog lovers. The designs are of cats and dogs together or separately. It makes for a nice variety of designs. The drawings have a nice level of detail with good backgrounds as well. A number of animal books I own are of just the animal without any form of background. In these designs, the backgrounds are both inside and outside.The animals have a nice level of detail as well but leave plenty of room for adding your own finishing touches. You can choose make them a single color or to change it up a bit and make them multiple colors. I like the freedom this provides while I am coloring the designs.What I did miss was the framing line that most Creative Haven coloring books have on the outer edges of the designs. It made it more difficult to have a nicely finished project. Otherwise, I really liked the designs in the book.I decided to do a design of a kitten and a puppy snuggling in sleep as my first project. I had fun using my oil-based pencils and adding “fur” to the animals. I'll post a photo of my first project as well as samples from the book.This is what I saw while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium. I will list, in the comments section below, the coloring medium I use for testing and for coloring.31 Cat and Dog designs – some with cats and dogs together and some where they are shown separately.The designs are printed one side of the pagePaper is the usual Creative Haven quality: white, medium weight, slightly smooth and has perforated pages.Glue Binding but with perforated pages so removing a page is fairly simple.The designs stop well before the perforationsAlcohol-based markers bleed through this paperWater-based markers bleed through in spots and show colorful shadows on the back of the pageGel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of the page. India ink pens can bleed through when I apply more than one layer of ink.Coloring pencils work well with this paper. I was able to get good color, layer the same color and multiple colors and blend easily using a pencil style blender. I tested both oil and wax-based pencils with similar results. Hard lead pencils, like Verithins, leave dents on the back of the page.I suggest either removing pages from the book to color or using a blotter page under your working page. I like card stock as it keeps ink from seeping through and damaging the pages below.

I absolutely love the coloring book especially how lg the design is for my eyes and will be easy for me to color them.Have been looking for coloring books with cats and dogs and this one will definitely work for me and some of the designs look exactly like the kitty I have so I can color the design to match him.Great coloring book!!!!Judy S

I really enjoyed coloring my first picture in this book. I messed up the cat. I tried to make it look like mine. Lol. It was very relaxing and has a lot of nice pictures, that Im looking foward to coloring. Its good for both children and adults. I do recommend it. The price is worth it.

I bought this a part of a bundle for a friend. She loves to color and I love to buy things that give her enjoyment. She told me that this was one of her favorites. She loved that there wasn't a lot of fine details and that each design can be colored in a reasonable amount of time.

Cute pictures however i have started to wonder how professional the artists are as i see numerous mistakes like one tire being wider than others or the stone edges on house showing through a wood swing. That is why i gave it 4 stars not 5. For the price is a good deal.

Very cute, detail isn't too advance so it works well as a older child's coloring book and an adults, wish there was more variety in pictures. The cats and dogs are very similar. Still cute I am enjoying it greatly and even my mother who's eyes are no longer perfect can color with ease.

I bought this for my granddaughter for Easter. I have a few Creative Haven adult coloring books. This book is better than anything I have as far as the quality of the paper and print. Paper is clean and lines are clear. I use colored pencils. I don't know if the paper is thick enough for anything else.

My students loved the images in this book. We used them as visuals to draw from, all my art classes wanted to do the project.

Lovely book not started yet but I know I will enjoy doing

Beautiful book and the surroundings of the drawings are almost always similar. Plants, pots, etc...But I guess that's what is expected.The dogs and cats are cute, very well done. Similar to another book by the same author.It is the basic Dover Creative Heaven paper, better for soft colored pencil. You can always try markers but a page protecting the next is necessary so it won't bleed. Use your mind to mix the medias; as you mix and paint and experiment, you not only RELAX, but you learn and have fun.It is a cute book that is worth have. Since it is not too difficult, I believe this one is good for children around 8 and older.Enjoy yours, I will enjoy mine :-)
