Chill-Its work!
This camouflage color is a great neutral choice, as it does indeed stand out far less (on my pale skin, anyway) than the typical bright red or bright blue Chill-It. Young men in particular working outdoors during hot Summer months would be well advised to avoid wearing the bright red or blue colors in many parts of our country, lest the bandana be perceived as an expression of gang affiliation. (Some of our local youth work programs prohibit those for that very reason.) I'd strongly recommend the manufacturer market a range of more neutral colors such as this one instead of the potentially polarizing all-red or all-blue bandanas.Regarding functionality, Chill-Its are FANTASTIC and for many years now I've considered them an absolutely essential piece of gear whenever I am gardening or exerting myself in temperatures over perhaps 80 degrees- or lower, in recent years, as I've experienced menopausal hot flashes. (They even help me to tolerate a "normal" room temperature while I am sitting quietly, which does wonders for domestic tranquility.) That being said, if you haven't used these before, be aware that yes, they are wet and slimy! If you've never been hot enough that you'd welcome a nice cool slimy pet slug on your neck, then just stay in a nice air-conditioned room for the rest of your life. But if, like me, you often find yourself active outdoors but becoming uncomfortably hot and sweaty, do give a Chill-It a try. They are a thousand times more effective than a simple wet cloth. Your body stays cooler, you'll sweat less as a consequence, and your risk of heat-related dehydration is reduced. They are reusable, but the water-absorbent crystals do gradually break down (and slime you) with repeated use. Buy several and toss them out at the end of the Summer or when they've lost most of their volume when soaked. (These are intended to be tied- there is no irritating velcro- nor any issue with sizing or fit. Note that most similar products contain roughly the same amount of the absorbent crystals (or less), but may include more cloth for tying or draping. The crystals are sewn into the middle third of these bandanas.)

Perfect for hair.
I bought this for my hair, because they were kept on felling and so I thought of buying a bandana for long term hold and because I didn’t want to use clay on daily basis this was a nice solution, and as expected it worked perfectly fine. I used it for not even 20 minutes and I was seeing results. Great product.

Ineffectual
Soaked it in cold water, as instructed and the cooling didn't last (and the surface felt slimy). Disappointed, I put it in the freezer for a few minutes (long enough that when I went to check on it, it had frozen nearly solid), tied it round my head and stepped outside and it pretty much immediately got warm. Also, the bandana isn't as long as it appears in the picture, not unless you have a small head, I guess.

They work well if you prepare them correctly
I use these for early season bow hunting. If I allow at least an hour to soak, they do very well. The water they soak in doesn't have to be cold although that helps. I usually put them in a ziploc bag right before I start the drive out to the hunting grounds and it works out great. They will last for a couple of days without needing to be replenished. So far, I am very happy with them and would recommend them highly.
