First, should you buy this if you know you need it, yes. It is well made and the connectors are high quality. It was shipped well. You probably already realize that the ubiquitous SO/PL-239 connector, designed in the 1950s, really isn't suitable for frequencies above 400 MHz or so. If you are doing anything in the GHz range you should be using N or SMA. N is better but SMA is more convenient depending on what hardware (especially smaller scanners, UHF/SHF SDRs, etc) you are interfacing with.In general, please know what you are getting into. Even LMR-240 isn't soft, floppy cable like a USB extension cable. Bend it carefully so that you don't damage the connector, fling your equipment across the room, or torque your connectors clear off the cable. Set things up carefully and you will have a nice signal path.
