Slip leahses are often used as a tool to help with training loose leash walking and stopping leash pulling. That was the purpose for me purchasing this leash. When I received it, I was first taken aback by how thin the leather actually was, but nonetheless, some strong tugs on it showed that it was durable enough. I had been using it for about a week and the first few things I noticed was since it was so thin, it easily got twisted. It also took some effort to adjust, since the leather tab did not slide easily. These minor annoyances are not the reason I am giving this a one-star review. The actual reason is that it is completely unsafe and almost killed my dog. The problem is the cheap metal ring, the sole purpose of which is to keep the leash secure around the dog's neck. Well, it utterly failed in this department. My dog's behavioural issue is lunging at cars. One time after about a week of use of this leash, my dog lunged unexpectedly. The metal ring just broke and snapped right off hurtling my dog in the path of a moving car. Luckily I was far enough away from the car, and my reflexes kicked in and I was able to grab him before any disaster occured. My dog is only 25lbs, we are not talking about a 150lb beast here. This is completely unacceptable. I inspected the metal ring afterwards. It is the worst piece of garbage I have ever seen. It was so malleable i could pull it apart with zero effort. Now that the metal ring is gone, all I am left with is a useless leather string. Never again.

Schau Leine für kleine und mittelgroße Hunde. Ließ sich gut einstellen durch verschieben. Stabilität ist sehr gut, auch wenn anfangs etwas steif. Habe sie einfach mal in einem Kissenbezug gewaschen mit Weichspüler, und schon ist sie etwas weicher.

Ok .. so I love this. I love the feel of the leather, it's really soft. It's short enough that I can keep my buddy close to me. I used it to do more walking training and the only downside is sometimes it gets caught in his hair. With time and experience, I have learned how to avoid that, but it's something to be mindful of if you have a dog that is NOT short haired. It's worked well for our training and it's been very durable. I find myself reaching for it more than his other leashes because it's very easy to put it around his neck and run out the door!
