A History of Private Life, V 5 – Riddles of Identity in Modern Times

All five volumes of the History of Private Life are wonderful resources and won't age with time. Recommend to read for everyone interested in how people have lived in the past, as it also influences the present.

Enormous value and great reading.

I found this edition less insightful than their earlier editions on Roman and Greek Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Some of their comments seem trite. Yet, overall it provides a good history of modern social life.
