Sturdy. It’s hard for my child to open, I removed one of the rubber silicone pieces over the large container section and he was able to open it with ease. Hoping this container will last us the whole school year.

These boxes are the right size for me 12 and 16 year old lunches. Attached some pics for ref of what can fit. The first pic shows where the seal has separated. It makes it harder to close. The design is such that if you try to force the snaps closed when the lid isn’t aligned right you’re going to mess the outer seal. It hasn’t affected the compartment seals. We’ve been using for seven months. Their lunches kits haven’t had a spill that needed to be cleaned all year! Totally recommend 👍🏽

Bought these bento boxes for my preschooler and kindergartner for their lunches so we could get away from packaged, less healthier options at lunch. They love them! We get creative with what we put in there and the kids love the variety that the provide. I gave it five stars because it is a great product and we have been using it for several months now. There are some pros and cons: Pros: It allows a variety with the multiple slots, the thin slot fits a utensil (included or you can put your own) or a cheese stick. It is a good size for my 4 and 5 year old, it’s leak proof, and it fits in their lunchbox (I would measure your lunch box first, that’s what I did, but even though one was smaller, it fits. You just can’t put much else except a juice box in there) Cons: Because of the seal that makes it leak-proof, it is tough to open (even for adults sometimes). It is good, you just have to be careful not to send things flying. Also, you have to let it sit out to dry so that the little books get dry. Of course. Size could be a con if you don’t measure. Overall, great product for our kids. Just with a learning curve. Colors are great and as shown in picture!

Especially since a lot of the other reviews here are either "love it" or "hate it". I was most concerned about this bento box being truly dishwasher-safe, as someone reported water managing to get between the white layer and the black layer when they tried to wash theirs. Can happily report that after several washes (mostly by hand in a sink, and a few in the dishwasher) I haven't encountered any problems! :D Good proportion sizes, no leaks, and comes with a nice carry bag.
