good value
I use these for snowshoeing when I'm not at all worried about post holing or going too deep. They are nice to keep the snow out of my shoes that naturally flies up in the air as you walk in snowshoes. They're more unassuming than the large gaiters that go up to your knee. They're really easy to get on and off.

They work.
Good, lightweight, short, gaiters. Got them to keep chainsaw chips out of my boots. They do the job !

Not recommended
I bought these for a hike in New Hampshire & while they kept dirt & pebbles out of my boots, I won't use them again. First, they were large around my ankles so that the velcro didn't seal well. Next, they don't breath so my ankles were always damp. Lastly, the rope strap that goes under the boot kept filling up with mud & dirt in wet areas which caused me to slip several times going down steep sections. Those same rope straps also hit my ankles when I was walking, and on almost tripped me when I stepped on one. I'm throwing these away.

Great but not for hard core work/hiking
Held up on light hikes but when I got to rough terrain the Velcro seam ripped and the whole thing fell apart

Works well
Works well, good design. Easy to put on and reliably stays on.

Will last about 80 miles
Used these for the the 118 mile Tour du Mont Blanc hike. The strap finally wore through about day 9 of 12. For $15, not bad, but certainly not made to last.

Uncomfortable to wear, fall off easily and don't actually work
They are uncomfortable to wear, catching on sticks and other debris, you feel like your foot is constantly being slightly pulled away from how you want it. The band that goes under the foot moves around on your foot and catches things. Finally, it doesn't actually fix the issue that I assume most customers buy it for. It doesn't prevent debris from getting into your boots. It does decrease it a little bit, but not by much, and it's certainly not worth the discomfort and added chance of tripping for the small improvement. I suppose you could get it to work if you duct taped it into place, but at that point you would probably be better off just cutting the leg section off some socks and taping that into position. Anyway, bottom line, I wouldn't buy these again, and I don't use the pair I bought.

Works well.
I bought these to minimize rain getting into my hiking shoes. They worked fine and stayed tied to my shoes the few times I hiked in a downpour. Make sure you tie them on before the rain starts! I met another hiker recently with similar gaiters. He said he wore them because they keep rocks and debris out of his shoes.
