Mega Chef MGKTL-1752 Glass and Stainless Steel Electric Tea Kettle, 1.8 L

I really wasnt sure what to expect with this product because it seemed new and I'd never heard of Mega Chef before. Ive used the tea kettle now a little over a half dozen times and been very happy with it. Boils the water fairly quickly. And looks pretty doing it. I like the blue light letting you know when its on. I wish the opening at the top was just a little bigger to make it easier to get your hand in there to really clean it but apart from that, no other cons with this item. A couple times Ive run out of burners on the stove and had to make a bit of pasta. The product really isnt made for this purpose but I threw in about half a handful of angel hair pasta broken in two into the kettle, added water and turned it on. The pasta was on the edge of being done once the water boiled. I just left it in there for a couple more minutes, dumped it into a strainer and wha-laa....perfect pasta without a pan or a stove. Ive also used it for ramen and even threw in some frozen broccoli. When the water boiled, everything was done. I dont know if this will cut down on the life of the product by doing this but so far it hasnt effected it. Its actually a much quicker way of cooking pasta instead of boiling on the stove. Could be great at camp or in an RV as well where everything needs to be multi functional.

This is a replacement for our 11 yo Hamilton Beach. It looks very nice, the blue light when it heats is fun, the base and the kettle are very light. The heating time is not super fast, about a minute longer than our old Hamilton Beach kettle, but it's fine. Can't speak to the longevity yet, time will tell, but at this price point can't complain.

This Megachef Mega Chef Glass/Stainless Steel Electric Tea Kettle, 1.8 Liter, Black/Silver (93596270M) boils and switches off in 10 minutes!!! Too slow!!!After it boils, it does not turn off for at least 1 minute.In my opinion, this product should cost at least half of its price.The quality of materials is good. So, my "Overall rating" - 3 stars.But I am not satisfied with the product.:|

Ive had a couple of these types of kettles and this one is my favorite! Heats up water fast and we can see the clearness of the water.

Is five years a decent run for a countertop teakettle used daily? Maybe so. I was bummed when the handle separated from the carafe this morning, just as I was about to make a hot drink!Breakage aside, I have loved using this cute little kettle. Whenever guests are over and I use it, they are always drawn to the unique blue light. Not a bad investment but sure wish it had lasted longer.
