Best garden tool ever!
My gardening sisters have been encouraging me to get this Hori Hori gardening knife for a long time, and when I used theirs this summer on a trip to one of my sister’s home I was hooked! I immediately came home and ordered mine. I love it! It is comfortable to use, efficiently digs up weeds or simply aerates the soil, and lops off dead debris. I love that I can just use one tool instead of switching between the various tools I have for use in the garden. In Tennessee we have clay soil which can get hard when it’s dry, but my Hori Hori has no problem dealing with that. It’s sturdy and just the right size. I highly recommend this product.

Handsome tool will be useful in the garden.
My wife asked for a hori-hori knife for Christmas and we looked at quite a few online. This one had everything we were looking for: full tang, wooden handle, sturdy steel, leather sheath, and made in the USA. A full tang means that the blade extends the full length of the handle part of the knife, and the full width. This makes it much sturdier than a knife with only a partial tang, and the handle is much less likely to become loose or even fall off. The wooden handle has a dull finish that feels secure in the hand. The blade itself is heavy, and looks like good quality steel, although (this being January) we have not yet put it to its intended use in the garden. The knife edge was not sharpened razor sharp, which makes sense given its intended use, but the saw edge loks like it would rip right through roots and branches. The knife came with an attractive leather sheath, and would look good on your belt even away from the garden. The depth markings on the blade are deeply etched, and are inlikely to wear off, at least within our lifetimes. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and looking forward to seeing the knife in action.

Excellent weed removal tool
This tool has been really useful to remove bluebell bulbs that are taking over my yard. The bulbs can get pretty deep so I dig through the soil easily with this tool. It is very well made and comfortable to hold. I like that I can rinse the dirt off. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Excellent durable craftsmanship
My sister introduced me to garden knives and after some research I selected this knife. I liked the full tang, very important in every knife, the wood handle, and it came with a sheathe and sharpening stone. Since April I've been using it non-stop on weeds, English ivy, poison ivy...you name it and it's still extremely sharp - sliced my finger in a careless moment yesterday. The knife goes through thick hard clay much much easier than a trowel. My one suggestion for the manufacturer is a different wood for the handle, one that is more brightly colored. I've learned to prong it in the ground when it's not in my hand as the handle can disappear under weeds easily. I give it 5 stars as it's an excellent gardening tool. I should have gotten one years ago.

Had one that I lost
Perhaps , one of the best garden tools and this particular one I had previously . Had for three years before it was lost. Didn't hesitate when the new season started . Ordered the same one from the same company.Well made, sturdy , and a perfect all round garden tool

Great versatile garden tool!
Have been hearing about hori hori knife and finally ordered one. This specific one is perfect. It has both a serrated edge and a straight edge, very important in gardening. It is great for planting, transplanting, edging, cutting roots and many other uses in your garden. I am mostly using it to remove the abundant awful weeds in my yard and planting beds. I have hard clay soil and this tool lets me dig. Came with a leather scabbard to fit on a belt and a free sharpening stone. This is one of the best versions I have seen.Get one from this vendor. His name is Don Kane of RiverView Enterprises. (I have no relationship to this person.)

Good well made tool
This knife is not flimsy it’s made to last. All the materials users are good quality and it came with a sharpening stone. It’s thick so it can handle hard soil and the blade is not just inserted into a handle; is one sold piece with two pieces of wood riveted to each side so the blade is from the tip point to the bottom base of the handle; this will not be falling apart! I also noticed that the blade has marked inches on one side and is slightly concave to aid in digging and planting . It has weight to it and feels good in the hand. I like the leather holder that comes with it and the attached belt loop. It’s a nice looking impressive tool.

I'll never step outside to do yard work without it!
Wow. How have I spent four decades gardening and have never had this amazing tool? It came in today and I have seriously put it to use in our hard pack clay and rocky soil. It went through like butter. The serrated edge breezed through the old stalks of ornamental grass so much faster than my hand pruners were doing. The case fits well and makes keeping it handy on my belt. I'll never step outside to do yard work without it!I knocked off one star (but would have only done 0.5 if possible) for the fit and finish. Like others have reported, the tang protrudes slightly from the wood handle as did one of the rivets. Took the included stone and knocked down the edges a bit so I didn't ruin a pair of gloves. I'll go at it with a dremel when I have some time.
