Great for uneven curl pattern, relaxing, and smoothing
My hair is fairly course and a bit longer than shoulder length with a wacky curl pattern that ranges from 2a to 3c depending on the area (back is very curly and gets straighter toward the front - in some places). I am older and dont use SM but I saw this by chance on a TV show and searched it out. I can only wash my hair about 2x per week max, and I have to spray it down with water, add leave in conditioner and hair oil mid way to ends just to comb it every day. I dont like using heat on my hair but prefer it to be more tame and smooth than it comes naturally. I have been leaving it to it's own devices for its health, but always wishing for an easy way to tame it. I found one! This is soooo easy and comfortable, though I do think it looks ridiculous (!). If you can wrap your hair around a curling wand you should have no problem with this. Before I go to bed I mist my hair all over with water and put in my leave in conditioner and hair oil. Then I brush it very straight and flat. I only used the clip to hold the rod to the top of my head while I am winding the hair around. I start at the front top of my head on one side and wrap it around. Then I hold the end of that section with one of my fingers while wrapping the bottom front over the end to secure it, then remove my finger and continue working toward the back (repeat). In all I do probably 4-5 sections on one side. Then I tie off the ends with the scrunchy. Once the first side is done I dont find I need the clip any longer. I wrap the other side the same way and go to bed. I don't notice it at all when sleeping and it stays in great! As long as my hair fully dries before removing the rod my curls last perfectly for at least 2 days (but since I also get a lot of frizz in general I prefer to wrap it every night). My hair looks so much smoother, more relaxed, and the curls are much more consistent). Great results for less than 5 minutes of work. I LOVE THIS.

Worth the try!
I was skeptical- but pleasantly surprised! I have thick, soft hair with no texture. I’ve never been able to use a curling iron or have any other type of hot roller actually hold a curl for more than 10 minutes. This product REALLY works! But, it’s a little tricky & comes with a slight love/hate relationship. Instructions are simple enough, and the product is decent quality. I think maneuvering is the hardest part, then if you’re leaving it in overnight is the second hurdle. …I don’t have time or patience to wait 4-6 hours for damp hair to fully dry before needing my “do done”.I’ve tried this a few different ways. First, after separating hair to each half of head, separated each half section into 4 more per side, wrapping one at a time around one side, for each. It works well for “ringlets”. And, I was totally blown away they held tight, perfect, the entirety of the day without using any product!I have also tried the same method, but with hair fresh out of the shower instead of only dampened. It works well, still- but the curls were a bit more loose & didn’t hold as long. Plus, I ended up with some odd looking “kinks” towards my scalp where I had the hair clamp positioned. So, it’s better to have slightly dampened hair & not “wet”. It doesn’t fully dry properly, even overnight if your hair is more than damp. The third round I tried was per the initial instructions of just separating hair in half per each side. Positioned rod w/ clamp & wrapped entire 1/2 of hair each side, once along the rod. Left it in overnight & the result was very nice, flowing “waves”. Not so much of a curl, but looking natural & smooth like it was styled professionally at the salon.I think the results are great for how “simplistic” this product is, not using heat or anything else. Only, it’s a bit awkward to maneuver. And, sleeping with it in place is difficult if you’re aiming to use it for overnight purposes. I suggest using a satin pillowcase. But, the provided scrunchies hold well. The claw is sturdy & no issues, even overnight. Plus, a fun variety of color/patterns to choose from! This is my go-to instead of using a curling iron or heat rollers when I want curls or natural waves, now. This does the job WAY better & actually holds. Crazy a strange looking contraption that’s also very simplistic can accomplish these results- but it does!

Not nice to sleep in.
I bought this contraption to try to create some bounce in my lifeless hair. I look like someone from outer space while I wear it. The things we do to try to look beautiful..... I have almost waist length hair that is maybe medium thickness, but more on the thin side than I like. This headband did create lovely curls. It's easy to use and I like that it's silky so that I can easily pull it out of my hair in the morning. I do *not* like the thick, stiff part that goes over the top of my head. It does not stay in place due to the silky fabric, and it keeps me from sleeping well (I wear this overnight). I would suggest that the creators make the top part that goes over the head to be without the stiff filler...if I could have clipped or bobby pinned a flat top section onto my hair that would have kept it from interfering as much with my sleep. Keep the bottoms filled with the stiff stuff. I might take this apart and fix it to my own liking...if I care enough. Due to the discomfort, I don't wear this anymore...I just use my bathrobe tie. My 11 year old braves it once in a while because she likes curls too.

Heatless Curls
My go to for heatless curls. I love the design, most of them are stiff and hard to sleep in once you wrap your hair. This brand is more soft and I am able to sleep in it no problem. My heatless curls come out so nicely and this is quick to use. I do this just about every time I wash my hair.
