I should have purchased this a long time ago. It has help tremendously on holding things to solder. The arms can be moved in any direction. The light is a plus.

I was pleasantly surprised by the heft of the baseplate. I won't have any issues with stability. The magnets are very strong. The lighted magnifier seems to be high quality and works well. I really like the quality of the alligator clips and the fact that there are rubber cushions on the teeth. As some others have mentioned, I too received a spare alligator clip as well as two spare thumbscrews. That's a nice add-in. The bending arms are strong and tend to stay in place.

Used to hold props and backgrounds for product photography and it works great. The magnets are very strong, almost too strong.

Great Stuff

Definitely a legit unit for most DIY applications. I ordered this as a 'portable' setup for soldering, thinking it would be like most of the less expensive ones available & not up to heavier gauge wire projects. It is far better than I expected! The light/magnifying attachment has plenty of options. The magnets on the accessories are surprisingly strong & when combined with the heavy base, they hold the armatures securely & right where you need them. I'd recommend this to anyone for DIY needs.

Helping hands holds my glasses very well and should help on small parts. The cables are weak though, are only good for lite items.

Works great at allowing me to see things and the light is excellent.

The magnifier and light work well together. Controls work as advertised.Seems sturdy and stays where you put it as long as the curve is not too tight.
