Works as expected. Even grates hard cheese rinds that other graters just jammed on.The suction makes the grater stable, as in won't move when using.Cleaning, EZ! Take it apart, run under hot running water to remove any of the biger items and then soap and water. EZ to store, and assemble.Highly recommend!

This grater was so easy to put together and use. Luckily, I have granite countertops, so the suction was fabulous. I had no problems with the handle. I was afraid it might snap off, but it seems very sturdy. I shredded a one pound block of sharp cheddar easily. My only glitch was the shredding blade getting full of cheese and stuck together. I discovered that I just needed to empty it regularly. I used parchment paper to catch the shredded cheese. Next time I'm going to spray the blade with cooking spray for easier cleaning, although Dawn and hot water worked great. Love this grater!

This grater is a GAME CHANGER!!!!! We have been buying in bulk for the last year to save money. The main reason we wanted a grater is to Shred our own cheese. We buy 5 - 10 pound logs, then slice half amd grate half. No more of the BS grocery store mystery cheese blend. We are spending HALF by purchasing in bulk. And it melts so wonderfully!LET ME TELL YOU.....This inexpensive gadget Shredded 20 pounds of cheese in no time! I was super skeptical because of the plastic, especially knowing how hard i am on kitchen equipment. I was leaning towards a power unit...but my husband picked this one. Even with a bad wrist, it was effortlessly effective! It grips to the counter well, not hard to operate or clean. I love it!P.s. I grated bar soap today for homemade laundry detergent. 2 minutes for 2 hard bars of fels naptha

Out of the box, the blades are nice and sharp.It works great for slicing carrots and radishes, and for grating a small brick of sharp cheddar cheese (with the coarse grating attachment)—very fast. I expect it to be useful also for slicing cucumbers and zucchini.It did a good job of slicing pieces of Granny Smith apple, but I should have peeled the apple first. Slabs of peel tended to stick inside the slicing blades. My bad. :-)Not so good with cabbage—for that I had to back to the box grater. (Took the advice in the instructions—didn't bother trying to slice onions with the rotary blades.)The handle is a little fiddly. Easy to take off, but sometimes it puts up a bit of resistance when I attach it. Looks to me as if holding the release catch down for part of the way will help. No problems getting the base to slide on and off.The suction device is not great. Expect to be annoyed by it from time to time. Minus one star for that. As others have noted, make sure your countertop is dry and the suction base doesn't have anything stuck to it.Overall: useful and good for the price, especially on sale.

My family uses a lot of cheese during the week. We all love how fresh grated cheese melts and tastes. This was a game changer for me. I had been using the old stand up mandolin style graters and holy cow this changed everything. Its simple to use, The suction cup base is very solid and holds it well to your countertop. You can grated so much easier with this and so fast. Clean up is easy. It stores well and is very well constructed. Dont hesitate to buy it is a great quality made product.

I have been wanting a non-electric grater and this one fit the bill. It's easy to use and even easier to clean. Have been wanting to stop by packaged shredded cheese for a while now this is great for shredding just the amount you need. The only downfall is the suction bottom doesn't really work well but that doesn't bother me.

I got this yesterday and rinsed off the parts so I could use it today. First I powered through two 8 ounce blocks of cheese, then an 8 ounce block of chilled butter, then about 5 ounces of pecans. All of these items were needed for a recipe I've been putting off (except one block of cheese I shredded just to have it on hand). I have a Bosch multifunction stand mixer with a continuous shredder attachment but it's a pain to use and a lot of waste product ends up stuck in the parts, so it never feels very labor-saving. I'd been considering something like this but they just look too good to be true, and I worried that my arthritis might make this uncomfortable to use. But I decided to go with it and I'm really glad I did.It all went very smoothly and even cleaning the parts in between for re-use on the next ingredient wasn't too bad--next time I'll plan ahead to be able to soak them in a bowl. The 2% cheese worked like a dream, the full fat cheddar was a bit gummier and more of it had to be teased out of the drum with a fork when I was done, but it shredded it all with very little cheese left over in the parts. The butter gummed up in the drum a little too, might have gone better if it had been frozen solid. But again, no unshredded lumps or lots of waste stuck in the parts. The pecans were no trouble at all.The suction held tight to the counter and was easy to engage/disengage. The parts fit together and came apart pretty easily even given that this was my first time learning to use it. The handle was easy to rotate and the thing I loved most of all was how quiet it was! Much quieter than the shredder attachment on my mixer, and much less to clean up afterwards as well. And much quieter than trying to break down nuts by pounding the bag on the counter with a rubber mallet like a chump. I had suitably low containers to grate this stuff into, but it occurred to me that when I finally get a nice undermount sink I'll be able to lock it down at the sink edge and sit a bowl in the sink to shred large quantities into if I want.If this lasts a few years I will consider this money well spent. It seems well made for plastic. Looking forward to seeing how it works with veggies, like carrots and squash. But I mainly got it for grating cheese, and for that, it is a superstar.
