I first purchased white pumice and then decided to purchase this tan color for aesthetic purpose. This Japanese pumice is larger than the white one(from another brand) and I began to see a pattern. The lithops planted on Japanese pumice seemed to do better than those that were not. Then, I did the ultimate test, planted one purple lithop in just this tan pumice and other purples in other mix with white pumice. The purple lithop in the Japanese looks better and bigger than the ones that were not and they were comparable, originally, in size and type. I don’t know if the size of pumice has anything to do or what but I love it! However, it is a little expensive for the amount you get. I tried my best to show in picture but I don’t think is very clear because they are not side by side.

I just got this and another bag of pumice today and the bag for this one was open when I opened the box. So just be careful when you first get this to make sure you don't pull it out and the pumice stones spill out everywhere. Other than that, the product is great! My plants will love this.

I used this pumice for my many orchid plants and as gravel for bonsai and cactus. The pumice maintains good drainage and hold water. I would recommend this product on the basis of my uses.

A lady with awesome healthy succulents at a plant show recommended this. I love it and so do my plants. Provides excellent drainage without the uglyness of perlite ( which always floats to the top)

Works well for my potting mix, takes a lot longer to break down than purilite and airates the soil we'll.

Good size pumice and quality.
