Good lessons!
I’m a homeschooling mom of a middle school 6th grader and a high school 9th grader. I can teach them both at the same time with the way it is set up for 6-10 grade. I love the lesson plans it provides. I would say however, it’s structured more for a classroom setting, but I modify it fit our needs. It allows me a starting point and I go from there! There are several websites that no longer work, but thankfully there is a search engine (the internet) that allows me to find what I need. It does require a lot of printing, so again, I modify things and use a projector and my laptop. I also use YouTube videos to give a better visual of some things and more detail information. I like that it enforces critical thinking and allows the children to come up with their own “answer” for the organizing questions, with that being said, there is no answer key. I would recommend this book to both a teacher and homeschooling parent who is hands on with the teaching.

Great Teacher Book
I teach MS and HS and this is a great addition to your classroom lessons.

Practical Yet Upper Level
As an experienced classroom and homeschool teacher, I have my own foundational philosophy and approach to instruction. I needed something that would support my style, help me create coursework that goes beyond the textbook and the knowledge and comprehension level, and support me during my first year of teaching workd history (or any history course, for that matter). The book's introduction helped me feel I was on the right path, and I learned a lot about the primary objectives and concepts that history courses deal with. With that understanding, I was afraid the material would be overly philosophical, wordy, and more than I was prepared to weed through.I was pleasantly surprised when I surveyed the first few lessons- they hold to the ideas introduced in the preface, but they are succinct, relatable, and creative! They involve more "fun" than I expected, and I am eager to put them to use!

Awesome Book
This book is really awesome. I teach 6th graders and we have been working through this book. It's so much easier than trying to find ancient history primary sources myself. I will say that this book would probably work better for 8-12 graders because the passages of text are very long. I usually end up splitting up the text for my 6th graders and have them explain to each other what they just read. Overall though a great book. My students particularly enjoyed one lesson that was on a Vida from India. In this lesson they got to draw what each paragraph was describing. It was so fun! Thank you guys! :)

Obsolete and unusable
These books are actually obsolete. I ordered both inquiry based history lesson books from this publisher, hoping to use them with my 12 year old students. I sat down yesterday to begin planning some lessons using the suggested format. All lessons require reading or downloading various primary resources from the internet for students to use as tools for comparing and contrasting information. I tried to access resources for the first 4 lessons on one book and the first two lessons in the other. 75% of those resources are no longer available online. They have either been taken-down or moved with no path to locate them. So the lessons are virtually useless. What a disappointment.
