Item is just as described, and perfect for my use.
Item is compact and sturdy. I used it to convert a hand truck to a compact, ratcheting and quickly adjustable retaining strap. I added a clevis to the handtruck for the strap to anchor to. So much easier and quicker to use.

Great little winch!
I was going to return the winch. But decided to keep it.It's a good little hand winch. Perfect for smaller boats. I use it on a home made trailer to pull my mini 8' bass boat and have absolutely no issues pulling the little boat up onto the trailer.Would definitely purchase again.

Great for most light weight jobs
I needed this for my utility trailer. It is only a 4x7 tilt trailer that I use for mowers and other yard equipment. I purchased this exact crank off of Amazon for half of what I was going to pay at the local hardware store. It was very easy to mount and install onto my trailer, took roughly 15 minutes or so. I have a 20 model cub cadet 50 inch tractor style mower that I use predominantly and this crank will actually pull the mower on and up the trailer with ease. Obviously you would want to purchase a better and heavier duty crank for larger and heavier jobs/equipment but for most light duty work this is far more than enough.

Broke in under 1 minute
I bolted the unit to my trailer as I was putting the crank handle on the bolt snapped in half . I hardly put any tension on it . Would NOT trust this coming out of the water as the sole support of my boat up a ramp!

It’s cheap and broke instantly..
The unit looked promising out of the package. Unfortunately, once installed, you quickly realize the strap is too long for the pinch and if you are not careful, it will overlap the reel and get caught in the gearing and rear the strap. Also, the material that the gears are made of are of lesser quality and started breaking and stripping immediately (no, the advertised weight capacity was not exceeded).

Strap gets caught in the gears
If you retract the strap all the way, the size of the strap roll gets bigger than the guides and it moves over the gear teeth. If the strap were a bit shorter or if the guide washers were bigger, it would work fine.
