Helpful information
This book is well written and includes a good amount of useful information. I wish this was required reading for others without autism. Like employers, teachers, care givers etc.. Not all of the the book was relevant to me but helpful nonetheless.

A little hit or miss
Decently interesting and useful read overall. It's nice to recognize certain aspects and patterns in yourself and have someone put words on them. Helps with self-acceptance and allows you to get a better mental grasp of certain concepts.I found the tone and content of the book to be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes leaning heavily towards pessimism, other times going for an almost toxic degree of positivity or delusion almost. Not to some extreme, but still. Overall, I would say this book leans on the side of acceptance and comforting the reader over having to adapt to the world, for better and/or worse.Reading this book, I couldn't help but develop a sense of being in danger strangely enough, reading about all those "things that might go wrong" or "things you shouldn't do." I understand they are general guidelines meant to be helpful, but do I really need to worry about things like not sticking to a single subject for more than a minute for example?I still recommend it for the many solid pieces of advice you'll get, the reassurance as to what experiences are "normal" for you, and the interesting ideas about how to make things work and build yourself a productive but comfortable life.

Great Book. Informative, Digestible (and not too long!), Positive and Insightful
What a great book. I have a short attention span for reading, particularly non fiction. I think I can count on one hand the non fiction books I've read since my education (and I'm 36!) - so the fact that I finished this, enjoyed it, and digested it is a true indicator of just how well thought out and readable it is. The views on Autism are so balanced, researched and useful. And because it's a short read, it's one you can recommend to family, friends and co-workers to help them understand Autism quickly and easily, without having to be bombarded by heavy information and dense text. I bought this book along with a few others to discover more about my family, myself and others around me in my life and I found it really helpful. It clarified a lot I already knew, but there are a lot of people out there who don't know these things, and this book would be a great one to read and share. And the warmth and respect for the Autistic community that the author had, that was threaded throughout, was really well received. I felt it. Loved it. Well done!

Mix of relief and disappointment
This was my first book about autism, as I begun to struggle and wanted to “overcome” the problems. However the book gives no solutions, or even hints for overcoming any problems, it’s just a description of what the author feels autism is after spending time with people on the spectrum. It made me feel validated, yes, but it should not be included in series of book about “overcoming common problems”.
