The Complete Little World of Don Camillo

My favorite book series. Read first when I found it in the school library and then to my joy, found some second copies on ebay. Now really excited that I found the whole series on kindle! Basically that's how much I love it

A good well-printed version.

a very hilarious book. just go through it to find it yourself. cant stop laughing. long live pappon and the old stupid communist bullies.

I loved the characters. The little world is like a breath of a bygone era. My mother started me on these stories and I've now started my daughter on them. She's enjoying them too!

My favourite author. The stories may not be politically relevant these days, but will bring out enough laughs. This is my stress buster. I enjoy reading this book and the series any time, any day.

It was a gift for a friend. This has been my all time favourite.

I have been searching for this book for quite sometime now. Quite worth the wait.

Received it in mint condition. It's an entertaining satire set in a small town and explores conservative and communist ideologies. I bought it as a gift for a friend who had this title on his to-read list. The said friend loved it.

This is a wonderful book. The stories touched my soul at times and at other times had me laughing out loud. The characters are great and very interesting. I read this book in Spanish many years ago. My mother also laughed out loud and reading it again brought me close to my beautiful Mom.

I remember reading about Don Camillo and Peppone when I was a child, loved it and when I saw it again, well I didn't just buy "The Complete Little World of Don Camillo", I bought the five other books to! I highly recommend these books telling tales of these two Po Valley gentlemen's verbal and not so verbal sparring! The books also give us an insight into history of Italy just after WWII. I can guarantee that my copies will not just sit on the shelf!

My mother used to read Don Camillo to me when I was a child and 50 years on, it's still as fresh and charming as it was then. Simply wonderful!

Grace à de courtes histoires, G Guareschi décrit l'Italie de 1946 à travers les tensions entre le parti communiste local et l'Eglise dans un petit village de la plaine du Pô. Mais ses personnages sont raisonnables, aussi bien Pepone, le maire communiste, que Don Camillo, l’archiprêtre. Ce qui pourrait être un drame, à cause de l'extrémisme des deux courants de pensée, reste du domaine du récit savoureux. Ce livre est bien au delà de la comédie, quand on en analyse les détails des récits, c'est un livre d'Histoire avec un grand H, qui vaut d'être lu dans ce sens. De ce point de vue, G. Guareschi est l'égal de Malaparte, avec un humour moins désespéré.
