Les 50 Plus Belles Chansons

I find it astonishing that we are not familiar with Dalida in the UK. She was one of the most famous women of the 20th Century! She was a terrific singer, with a unique, silky voice you recognise immediately. She was so incredibly beautiful and iconic looking. And she was so much fun, for all her inner turmoil.She's one of the greatest stars who has ever lived. The very definition of the word "legend".Needless to say that this a superb compilation. You just can't go wrong with her.

I hope my French grammar is correct! When I'm not listening to Sylvie Vartan I put a DALIDA CD on my player. I love this collection of songs. Everything from the exquisite "Fini la Comedie" and "L'amour est moi" and between them "Le Lambeth Walk". From "J'attendrai" & "Romantica" to "Itsy bitsy..." etcetera DALIDA would turn her hand to anything musically speaking. Unfortunately like so many people I discovered her long after she left this world. She had a wonderful voice. Was glamourous and vivacious and sadly had more than her share of tragedy in her life. For me it all comes through in these songs. And it is through her music - on CD & DVD - she will live forever.

Quelle joie de revivre les belles années de la chanson française avec cette grande chanteuse, et une découverte de la variété de son talent, dans les chansons "tristes" surtout. Lama, Ferré, Aznavour ne sont pas trahis, bien au contraire, et les larmes coulent toutes seules… et puis sa vie, sa fin ,sont si émouvantes.
