The teeth and the belly love this
I read reviews about this and similar products. In particular I read a really good review about another brand on eBay that talked about the process used to make this stuff. In the end I settled on the Epic brand. Some reviews mentioned a chlorine like smell, but I checked for this when I first opened the bag and there was no smell at all. It tastes just like sugar. Aside from having few calories for the diet conscious it not only does not promote tooth decay, it actually kills the germs that are associated with causing cavities. I had but one gripe, and it was not about the product itself but the package. It comes in what should be a resealable bag with the plastic zip type lock on the top. However, it would not stay closed. So I use a few metal spring clips to seal the bag. Since I like sweetened tea, this is going to be a regular for me, now that I have taken myself off soft drinks.

Quality product and service
Good product, love using this for curbing my sweet tooth on keto. This is the best by far, price, quantity and texture. Epic Dental has been prompt with delivery and even prompt resolving an issue I had with packaging mishap. Will continue buying from them again!

Fine-textured (like sugar), lumpy, slight reduced sweetness
Automatic minus 1 star for Made in China. Minus 1 star for hard lumps and less sweet than previous purchases of this product. On the plus side, this batch was a finer consistency - closer to sugar than previous purchases. The product shipped to me for my most recent order (Jan 24) was clearly different than previous purchases (although the packaging was the same). I do appreciate the finer texture because I mix my xylitol with 1/2 to 2/3 Whey Low ('sugar'), depending on the purpose. The sugar-like consistency helps the mixture stay mixed rather than settling and separating due to the different crystal sizes (xylitol crystals are normally larger than table sugar crystals - more like the decorative colored sugar crystals commonly used on cupcakes & cookies). However, the finer texture along with some moisture apparently made the xylitol clump - and not the loose clumps that disintegrate when you touch them or break up easily with little effort, but harder clumps that must be searched out, corralled, and crushed with fingers/spoon/etc. - with intention. Clumps are not conducive to mixing well with other substances or measuring small amounts accurately. As for the slight reduced sweetness, I notice because I have a very specific morning coffee routine and I always use the same coffee/water/sweetener/measurements _every_ _time_ - because I'm a Type-A personality. This most recent batch of xylitol has me using about a 1/2 tsp more of my sugar/xylitol mixture than every single previous batch of Epic Dental xylitol.I like the finer texture but I'd prefer it lump-less. And I'll keep buying the China xylitol (Epic Dental for now, reluctantly) until I can afford the American stuff.Update 20150711: Latest purchase - texture is fine - VERY close to sugar and no clumping whatsoever.Update 20160229: Product back to larger crystals. Disappointing. Otherwise, same.

Ultimate replacement for sugar
My family has food allergies and one of those food allergies happens to be to sugar :( I was led to xylitol as a replacement that I could handle, and it has saved our life when it comes to craving desserts. Not only does it taste almost identical to regular sugar, but there is no nasty after taste and it doesn't spike our blood sugar levels (Which means no crazy kids afterwards!) This is also recommended by the dental association because it is much better for your teeth! Yay for xylitol! I recommend it to everyone whether you have problems with regular sugar or just trying to improve your health. This particular brand was the less expensive than the other brand that I was getting and I haven't seen any differences in it!

Good for you, perfect taste.
Yum! And good for you and your teeth. I'm a big believer in this product. It works. Don't eat too much at once, but remember, your body naturally produces small amounts of xylitol, so it knows how to use it. No spikes with diabetics (only 7% absorbs into the blood), and it allow bacteria to feed on it in the mouth, but they die because they cannot metabolize it, so it fights cavities too. Good for cooking almost anything that does NOT use yeast. I uses it in my oatmeal almost every morning. Get the birch tree versions, not the corn ones... Both are okay, but the birch tree xylitol is more natural, and not manufactured. It is truly a sugar (not a sugar alcohol), but doesn't feed bacteria due to a difference in the amount of carbons in the molecule.

Hard and Clumpy
Tastes as expected. However it's full of rock hard clumps. The zip close is useless.

Good Alternative Sweetner
Only had this in chewing gum or such before. Now I put it on my cereal in the morning. Tasted right out of the bag and waited - no aftertaste. My major concern. It is also a "pleasant" sweetness - not overpowering like Splenda or stevia.Made a loaf cake from 50% sugar and 50% Xylitol in the event it cause diaharea in my wife. It did not do so.Since I believe it is a by product of the corn industry, it is a natural product. With only 30% of the calories of sugar and no carbohydrates, this is the ticket to lowering sugar content. I made a special jar with it in it. It appears to be a bit on the chunky side so I assumes it absorbs water and so keeping it in a sealed container seems like the smart thing to do.Would I buy again - you bet!
