Must have
We have used this on several camping trip and this performed exceptionally well. I have had no problems with it. Well worrying i definitely would say get the extra battery. That came in very handy when we camped with no electric sites. The battery ran all night then in the day time we use solar to charge it back up and all good for the next night. This also came in useful in a few power outage that we had, being able to keep out stuff frozen and use the refrigerator at the same time was awesome. Must have product and it is well made also. Tip while traveling we keep it plugged in the car so upon arrival the battery is 100%.

BougieRV 45qt dual zone fridge/freezer is an excellent unit!
I bought the 45qt BougieRV dual zone refrigerator cooler with Bluetooth app after reading all the reviews. I have to say despite seeing a number of bad and good reviews the unit received is perfect.I've been running it for the last few days running a series of tests. I wanted to see if the fridge could cool quickly, if it cooled accurately, and how much control I had over its configuration and it's calibration. As it turns out, if you read the manual you *really get a lot out of it*. This fridge has advanced controls which are in the app that let you set things like the hysteresis and calibration for the temperature. I didn't need to touch them though because they were nearly perfect out of the factory. The fridge cooler has excellent settings to keep your battery from getting drained in the car, or from over draining its own internal lithium battery if you decide to purchase one. The fridge has a normal and eco mode to save power, and at the same time it also has configurable voltage cutoffs to prevent your battery from becoming over drained in the car, RV, van, truck or whatever you've got.The Bluetooth app paired to the fridge instantly. While the front control panel is not the most straightforward to get to all of the functions, they are clearly labeled just under the display panel. This makes it a lot easier to control the fridge even if you don't install the app.The fridge has a maximum power draw about 60 watts at 12 volts. It supports a battery, which seems to be a bit of a standard amongst the different manufacturers. BougieRV is working on an 11.1 volt battery that has USB-C charging and support, as well as being able to charge from a 12 or a 24 volt source. Because I didn't want to wait till December, I bought a battery from one of the other manufacturers that fits. It is also 11.1 volts, but requires a 12.6 volt charger, or can be charged by the refrigerator itself. It takes a while, especially if you're using the fridge while charging the battery. It'll charge in about 6 to 8 hours gently from about 11 volts to 12.6 volts.I tested the freezer by putting in four 20 oz water bottles and nothing else. I set the freezer to -4°F and they froze solid after an overnight in the freezer. The actual temperature of the freezer tends to move up and and back 4 degrees from the set temperature. This is in line with the hysteresis setting in the advanced menu of the Bluetooth app. Well done.I set the refrigerator to 38°F, loaded it with four 2 l bottles of soda, and from warm it settled in at around 34-36° and stayed there. The coldest it got was 33 ° but it did not freeze the sodas. This is a good thing. The way the fridge works is that it wraps it's evaporative coils primarily to the freezer, and there are a couple windings coils around the larger refrigerator section. It is a true two-zone system! You can actually set both sides to be freezers, The larger side can be a refrigerator while the smaller side is a freezer, or you can set both of them to be refrigerators. It's an excellent setup. Both sides of the fridge have bright LED lights which make it really easy to see what you're picking out of them. The refrigerator side has a drain plug, which is easy to remove to drain the unit. The thickness of the bottom of the unit is about 3/4 of an inch or so and it is filled with insulation. The lid is completely insulated, with foam just like a yeti. The only complaint I have is that the seal around the lid is pretty basic. You may want to consider replacing the seal with a better one if you are going to be using this fridge all the time in an RV or van conversion. The fridge I purchased has baskets on the refrigerator and the freezer, you can buy two different models one that has the baskets and one does not. I highly recommend purchasing the one with a baskets since it makes it easier to arrange the storage and lift the stuff out.One other potential hack which is worth noting is to cut out a piece of insulation material like styrofoam or mylar bubble wrap the size of the left, and the right opening. That way you can keep your freezer cold or your refrigerator cold when you are pulling items out. This is only the first week I've had the unit, I intend to update this review if there are any issues, and just to update on how well this unit works over time.

Great fridge and excellent customer service!
We’ve only used the fridge a couple of time. It does a great job keeping things cold and is fairly efficient. We had a question for customer service and the response time was very quick. They sent videos to help me with my problem and followed up a couple of days later to make sure that their response helped. Most companies don’t follow up. Kudos to BougeRv!!! I’m couldn’t be happier with our purchase.

Mostly Great! But not perfect
This cooler works great, mostly! It's very quiet while it's running. The app is simple and easy to use. The wheels and handle make it easy to transport. The only downside is it uses more energy than other similar fridges. I'm not sure if that's due to having less insulation or the way it's separated the fridge and freezer compartments but it seems to turn on more frequently just to maintain temperature. Would definitely recommend; just make sure you have a big battery if you plan to take it camping for a weekend.

Very efficient, works great
I ran this off a battery generator and from 75F it only took ~20 minutes to cool below freezing when empty. The two sections went to different temperatures as designed. My temperature settings could also be set and read via their phone App (using Bluetooth so it works in the woods). I used a thermistor to an external meter and found the temperatures were a few degrees off. But the reading greatly depends on just where and how I attach the thermistor to the internal cages. The only feature I didn't like is that the handle could not be fully recessed to save space in my SUV. But I'll find ways to pack around it efficiently.I also purchased separately the internal battery which has a surprising amount of capacity. I was confused at first that I needed to separately turn on the battery, which makes sense to save its power against trickle loss.

Back to my ingalls
I bought this refrigerator a few weeks ago for camping. I have an old Ingalls that I owned about 20 years and it'worked fine but it's just a refrigerator. I wanted to have an ice maker or a freezer compartment. So here we are out in the in the middle of nowhere camping and the freezer compartment will not get set. It's worked fine at home when I tested it on my car battery and on DC power. But out here it's just nothing but a line on the freezer side and I can't get it to switch over to the freezer side in order to set the temperature. So I've just been running the refrigerator. I tried calling their customer support today and it rolled to voicemail. So much for the great customer service that everyone brags about. I guess my only real gripe is that their documentation both online and sent with refrigerator sucks. All it does is tells you what's on the refrigerator face to press the minus sign then press the setting sign and it should switch over to freezer doesn't work. It would seem if they were going to have crappy documentation they would at least have good customer service. Got to have one of the other.Bottom line I'll be packing this 40 lb boat anchor up when I get home and shipping it back and going back to using my old trusty ingalls and carrying a cooler for my ice.
