I just measured it. 4.0 x 0.75 x 0.375 4.0" high 3/4" wide 3/8" deep at end with pocket clip 1/4" deep at end without pocket clip

Q: Can you use an external mic?

No. There is no input for an external mic. The jack at the top is for headphones.

Q: Is the usb-c only for charging? or can i plug an external usb mic into the usb-c slot?

There are no menu options that allow switching the USB-C port to support microphone devices. When connected to a computer it automatically goes into file sharing mode. The manual only refers to it as a charging and file transfer port.
