Wow, these things are awesome for costumes!
I'm in love with sound exciters. Well not really, but as somebody who has recently gotten involved in modding costumes, these are so nice compared to standard speakers which are easily muffled by fabric or require directionality for proper projection. As long as you have a solid surface somewhere in the costume, you can use these to create sound without having to hide the speaker grills. I'm using this exciter inside a Darth Vader chest box to project his famous breathing sound; it works well.

Working great for my Legends Pinball
Just installed as replacements for my atgames legends pinball after the original exciters blew after a month of use. These are definitely an upgrade and a better option in my opinion then the other ones people are using for this purpose, although slightly more expensive. Specs are closer to the original with an upgrade to 10 watts over the 3 watts on the cheap ones that come with the legends pinball. 4 ohms match the stock exciter and no extra amp is required to drive them, use the existing wiring.

Works
Works fine but polarity marking should be on the backside. It's on the front side now and once you mount it you can't see it.

Endless fun
I don't know if I'll ever stop experimenting with these things. They sound great, and I imagine you could make a chladni plate if you wanted to.

tiny but very effective
This does what it is supposed to do and seems well built. I wish I had purchased one with more wattage however. my bad.

Unless you are expert at soldering, use a different Dayton Audio exciter
The connection tabs on THESE exciters are TINY, and they are prone to breaking. They are completely incapable of using a standard connector, like a female spade connector. Maybe an alligator clip would work, but it would surely fall off or break the tab eventually. The entire exciter is less than 1.5” across; the tabs are less than 1/8” across. The wires connecting to the sorry excuse for a tab seem to be a single strand of 0.50 mm (20 AWG) or thinner wire.I was going to use these exciters for the rear channels, because the rear speakers don’t need to be as loud, and because they are less money. 3 of the 4 are going back, because the one I was using broke!I have equipped my home theater with 10 OTHER Dayton Audio exciters — 2 per channel (in a series to get to 8 ohms) for my 5.1 surround sound system. They’re easy to hook up and use, and the exciters deliver a rich sound when coupled with the right materials.
