DAIKIN 18,000 BTU 17 SEER Wall-Mounted Ductless Mini-Split A/C Heat Pump System with Maxwell Wall Mounting Bracket and 15' Installation Kit 230V

I have allergies, so I am in the process of converting my house from the old central -ducted systems to mini splits. This unit was the big one. It went into the 'great room'. I live in Arizona and the outside temperature hits 110°F most days this time of year. This unit has been holding my setpoint of 74°F on ECO mode since it was installed last month. I did not expect it to work as well as it does. The fan is quiet, the remote is easy to understand, installation was straightforward (I hired an HVAC guy). As a bonus, my power bill was $100 lower this year than last year.I did not have any service calls, so I can't comment on customer service. But so far, I am quite pleased that the unit seems built to run in harsh conditions without problems.

Single best upgrade I've ever made to our home. My two-car garage (which is used as a home gym) is now livable/usable in the summertime, thanks to this unit.Install was reasonable. I had done precisely ONE mini-split (A "Mr. K**l" unit) before this one. Once I had power run to the outside unit, the interior unit mounted, and the line-set run, it was just a matter of vacuuming down the lines and getting a local HVAC guy to start it up. I involved the local HVAC guy to do the initial startup, so that Daikin would honor the warranty. That cost an extra couple-hundred-$$, but was well worth the money.The unit is utterly silent, and works like a charm.

Within 2 months of purchasing this product I had an issue with the Schrader valve which was leaking coolant and thus it was not cooling. I spoke to someone at Heat and Cool (seller) August 5th and emailed all the info but no response. I had my tech that installed the unit get the parts and repair it (at my cost). It was still not working well after this repair. We then had to replace the indoor blower motor and control board for the blower. Total labor was $939 for all these repairs and service calls. I called and emailed several times and did not get a response until August 21st! A brand new unit should not have all these issues and this company would not do anything to make this right. I found out through Daikin you can get a labor warranty so I asked the seller to look into it and they would not. Worst Amazon purchase I've ever had! Don't buy from them!

Installs easily and the instructions were pretty good. I did have the lines vacuumed and it's been a lifesaver in this summer's heat. Quite and very efficient.

Overall this mini split is great so far.One of the worst things is that the instruction manual was not good and hard follow.The factory fittings for the line set had to be cut off and re flared because they weren't good (this was done by an HVAC professional).The remote isn't super user friendly.The inside unit is quiet, no complaints there and it's in our living room. The outside is not quiet, there's a lot of vibration noise. We have it mounted on the house but may build a pedestal instead to help with some noise. I believe the listing said that the outside unit was a bit loud, so we weren't expecting silence.There were conflicting things online and we thought this was made in the US, it is not. Not the end of the world, but we were trying to buy US made.We hired a contractor to install the units, and then hired an HVAC specialist to vacuum the lines (or whatever it is they do) and do the final things needed to set up. Cost was reasonable, and we were up and running!Haven't had any very cold days yet, but this seems like it will heat our house well during the winter.Overall would recommend it!

This unit has been in use for about 6 months now and it worked fantastic during the Texas SUMMER HEAT!! Winter came around and the unit came with heat as well, (which we did not realize at time of purchase) and man o man did it keep us warm!!Awesome Heating/Cool unit! Highly recommend!

My son who is an HVAC technician suggested this brand. He said it was easier for technicians to work with. He installed it in my living room during a heat wave and after it was properly hooked up (electrician will be needed) my home is feeling soooooo much better!!I do wish it was a little cheaper 😊!

The unit works great. I’m using it to chill my wine cellar. It keeps the room at a constant 60 degrees Fahrenheit. It is so quiet, you can hardly hear it.
