I have installed this device in Nexon. Absolutely its working. You have to use rat repellent spray along with it. So you will get maximum benefit. Hastle free installation. Once engine starts, it stop working. Sometimes once in a week I start my car. Nobattery discharge issue. Effective for mice. If you wish to use water spray to clean engine bay, you have to wrap this device by plastic. Splashing is acceptable.

We park our cars outside and we recently had two incidents - rat bit and damaged the fuel line in my 18yr old Getz and couple of weeks later, it bit off the wiring in my wife’s Jazz. It’s not a matter of money, but rather the availability of the damaged parts and of course, the downtime. First I tried to eliminate the rat, but when I couldn’t I moved to creating a deterrent. Tried naphthalene balls, tobacco and eventually settled for spraying the engine bay with 3M rodent repellent. This was effective, but one day I saw rat droppings on the engine of the Jazz and attempted bite marks on my Getz’s fuel line. This meant the rats were revisiting and I needed to keep spraying the engine bays regularly. This is not always feasible, so I started looking for more permanent solution. I researched for devices that could be installed in the car that would keep the rats away. That’s when I came across Carcat. Went through their website in detail, read customer reviews on Amazon and other sources. One thing I realised is that the company has really put a lot of thought into their product, including researching on vermin behaviour and how to improve the product to counter the vermin menace. I didn’t find any other product which gave such detailed explanation on the problem and how the product was going to help deal with it. Sure, it’s expensive, but think of the ROI. Changing the wiring harness in the Jazz costs 17k, and if the ECM is damaged, add another 25k to that. Now imagine you having to change this frequently. In the case of my Getz, it was grounded for 7 weeks because I couldn’t find the replacement part! I had to finally source it from outside the country! So that’s that. Also, the product has nifty features, like turning off when the engine is started and the standby mode (when you go on vacation). It’s easy to install, just follow the instructions provided (which is pretty detailed I must add); it took me all of 30mins to find the spot to fix it, drill holes and finish the wiring. Adding the pictures and videos of the install done on our Jazz; one of the videos is the device disengaging when the engine is started and another one of the light works inside the engine bay when the bonnet is closed. I installed the device three days back and so far it’s doing its job. You may ask why this detailed review - well, I’m sure there are folks out there with the same predicament I was in and need a no-BS review, so here it is. I’ve purchased a second device for my Getz, which I’ll be installing tomorrow. And no, this is not a paid promo; I wish it was, but it isn’t. I have this product installed in my Creta 2024. I usually do not believe in products that claim to give ultrasonic sound to repel mosquitoes, cockroaches, bugs and flies. I have opened them up and just noticed that they are all a scam. This product however caught my attention because of the review and the hype that it has on Youtube and on Amazon. It was in my Amazon Wishlist thinking that I will purchase this device after my next salary. I bought my car in March 2024 and in just one week of purchase, I noticed rat droppings and pungent smell in my engine bay, there were footprints too. I immediately purchased this product and got it installed as soon as it was delivered. The seller shipped it immediately and it reached right on time. I haven't seen evidences of rat entering the engine bay after installing Carcat.My house is next to a supermarket and their storage is adjacent to my parking and we often get to see bandicoots and rats running around in our parking area. We are tired of rat poison cakes as each bandicoot eat atleast 3 or 4 of them before they die. Rats on the other hand have shown their talent in my other car damaging the ABS wire and radiator tube. I have reasons to believe that installing this on my creta has also benefitted my other car directly or indirectly. Though I do seem them run around, they are rarely found the cars.
