Q: Can those be used in a home brewing kit like a Mr beer recipe?

Hi. Certainly you can use it with a kit, but it's generally not needed with a kit like Mr Beer or Coopers. Also, on smaller batches less than five gallons, you'll probably want to just use half a tablet put in 10 minutes before the end of your boil. The primary purpose of the Whirlfloc is to help settle some of the break material in the wort before racking into your fermenter which hopefully results in a more clear beer. In any case, it certainly would not hurt. Hope this helps. Ed

A bag, but we have had no issues.

For a 5 gal (about the same as 20 ltrs) I use 1/2a tablet
