Consorting with Spirits: Your Guide to Working with Invisible Allies

The Best Companion For Any Conjurer
Full Disclosure: I am a student of Jason Miller, and I'm a big fan of his teachings. However, as he is blunt and honest with his students, so will I be with this review. With that out of the way, I was impressed with this book. I went into it already familiar with several things he covers, but I was surpised with a few things he hadn't explicitly taught (but was implied, looking back). Even more than that, there were ways he put 2 and 2 together for me in this book that was a little eye-opening, to be honest. In short: If you're interested in spirit conjuration, get this book.I could just say "Get this book", but then I'd *really* look like a shill. So here are a few points to back up this review:- One thing I've always liked about Jason is his writing style. It's personable, relatable, respectful, but also straightforward and to the point. That's especially the case in this book.- He starts the book off addressing a very obvious question that I have seen very few authors address: What are spirits. I loved what he expressed there.- Jason explores some very under-explored topics in spirit conjuration. Levels of spirit manifestation and why you don't always need full physical manifestation. Skills for perceiving spirits aside from "stare at the incense smoke" or "gaze into the mirror". How to not only speak at the spirits, but also be heard by them. Localized vs non-localized spirits. Friendly conjuration vs compelling conjuration. Honestly, I could go on. There's a lot of under-handled gold in this book.- As with all of Jason's writings, he includes stories of his experiences practicing magic (or, in this case, working with spirits). I've always found them very illustrative and instructive. So that's my praise of the book, and I highly recommend it. The only criticism I'd give it is something all his books have suffered from: editorial mistakes. This book has far fewer of them than his previous books, but I noticed some. However, that is microscopic compared to the gold here. Buy it.

An excellent guide to the practical and effective conjuration of spirits
Consorting with Spirits is a great book on conjuring spirits, I love every part of it. It is easily accessible, informative, and the most important part, super effective. I cannot stress how valuable his material is to the practicing occultist. He teaches without pretense. Presents the information, tells you what he knows about it and how it works, and then teaches you how to use it with examples. In this book, he looks at conjuring through the lenses of Christianity (heretical, and uh, not really christianity at all by my standards :D), Paganism, and Luciferianism. It's a great multi-faceted approach that demonstrates the way we have several options when it comes to working with spirits, and that we aren't constrained by belief systems. The pagan parts he presents are awesome. Taking a lot from his Sorcery of Hekate course, he presents perhaps the most potent aspect of working with Hekate, working with her to conjure spirits. The methods he presents here are potent, practical, and effective.I think the best part of this book, though, is the measured, rational approach he brings to the art of conjuration. He's doesn't exaggerate or dismiss the actual dangers a real magician is going to face when they really start conjuring spirits. He presents a friendly, respectful approach to spirit work, with firmness when necessary. He doesn't oversimplify, he just tells it like it is, it's complicated, and that's ok.While he says it should not be your first book on magic, I think it would be ok to start here, as long as it isn't your only book on magic, and you take his recommendations throughout the book to study other materials seriously. Together with Protection and Reversal Magic, Strategic Sorcery, and Financial Sorcery, you have a very comprehensive set of materials that provide you with what you need to know to have an exciting and rewarding adventure on your occult journey.

Excelente

Buddy talk
I have to say that I was expecting so much more.If this was a conversation with a friend or even a class, I would say that it was really great. But more than two thirds of the book are filled with personal stories and ramblings about this and that.It does clear some things, desmistifiesothers and gives some useful information but there's so much missing."I won't go this way because I wrote a book about it (if you want to know but it), I won't go any further with this because there are other books on the subject (if you want to know buy them)... C'mon!! Are you serious?Like he lightly touches the protection part (which is fundamental) because he has another book on this! What I think is that this is an extremely light reading and, if you squeeze it, not much comes out."Everything depends on everything" is the key work for this book... Not very reassuring and tremendously vague.Don't really understand so many 5 stars for this.
