Versatile! Secured our battery & LP tanks on travel trailer!
We purchased two 6-foot locks and are using them to lock down the battery and propane tanks on our new travel trailer. Cinching, keyed-alike feature made them perfect for our purposes. I'm super pleased that they fit and that we only have one key to deal with for both, as we already have too many locks and keys! The 6 foot length cinched easily around our extra large battery box on the trailer tongue - why pay $50 - $120 for those elaborate battery locks with yet another set of keys or codes to remember??? The box has a natural indentation for the strap, and this serves as the perfect point to cinch the cable lock so that it secures snugly to the tongue and cannot be removed without the key.The propane tanks were a bit more challenging. If you want to secure the LP cover over the tanks, get at least the 12 foot cable lock, as the 6 foot was too short to position it properly so that it couldn't just be pulled off the flexible cover. The 6 foot was long enough, however, to secure the tanks to the tongue, then we slipped the cover on over. Theoretically someone could steal the cover, but we were happy to secure the tanks!Great buy! Highly recommend!

Fantastic cable lock
I bought these to secure my OC-1 canoe to my truck. Here's what you get: a pair of cable locks and 2 keys. The cable slides through a hole in the locking mechanism which allows you to make the loop as large/small as you need. When you create the size loop you want, it stays in place when you lock the device. The cable itself is covered in durable plastic and is almost 1/2 inches thick (including the plastic coating). The other end of the cable is secured to the locking mechanism by sliding the cable through an articulating swivel that's attached to the lock. It's able to stay in place because that end of the cable has a durable metal cap that's crimped on. The crimping prevents the cable from going all the way through. When you pull the other end of the cable through the lock, you can't pull the crimped end out. It's basically blocked in. I like that it has an articulating arm which allows flexibility.I've left this out in the Hawaii rain and sea spray and haven't had any problems with corrosion issues. Definitely a great buy!

This prevented bike theft
I (foolishly) thought my bike was safe enough in our building (unlocked) vestibule that I didn't fasten with my U-lock, just this cable.I found a previous version of this cable partially cut through by opportunistic bike thieves that have been hitting my block. I guess it was thick enough that their cutters couldn't get through it. I replaced it the next day with the exact same cable and started double locking with my ancient Kryptonite New York U-lock. No second attempt was made.Might not work with a pro bike thief, but cops think it may be someone who lives in my area hitting buildings up and down my block. This is a good cable to pair with a U-lock - my U-lock is narrow and sometimes all I can do is lock the frame to an object, I thread this through both tires, my helmet, and sometimes the crate I mount on back to carry my dog.

terrible smell; blackened my hands
This product has been put into service, and appears to do the job. I ordered a 20' lock, and used pretty much all of the cable to lock up a patio table and 4 chairs.Coming out of the bag, the product had a terrible smell, almost exactly like a skunk! Good thing it will be outside. After installing the lock, the cable left a black residue all over my hands! Since I will be handling it twice a year, I guess I can live with it, but it's not a desirable feature!

smells terrible but I would buy it again
This is the third python cable lock I purchased. I purchased this one because it is longer than the others I own. I fish the cable through 2 drain holes on my kayak to lock it to my car. It works perfect for this. The trouble is that all the python cables I have purchased have a terrible chemical smell to them. Furthermore, after handling the cable the smell gets on your hands. The smell comes off your hands with soap and water. Cleaning the cable does not seem to help. My older python locks still smell but not as much as when they were new. Those locks are about 2 years old.The smell is unmistakable. If the lock is anywhere in the room you are in, you will notice it. I wouldn't trust any review that does not mention the smell.

Maybe this will work on dry land but if kayaks are in water tied to dock, there's risk.
We locked up our kayaks and left the two boats in the water off the dock for two nights thinking they were safe. We could see them easily from our rental condo. On the second morning the lock had fallen off into the water and sunk to the bottom! The cables were in there well enough that thank goodness the boats hadn't yet pulled away from them! I remember being all paranoid I wasn't going to lock them well so both my husband and I made sure it was done properly and then we tested the lock and it had definitely been secure. So, yeah, sadly can't recommend this product. And I need a new one now and this one has good reviews so it's tempting but ugh... 😕

Very easy to use.
Are use this as a deterrent lock on my motorcycle. Specifically, I loop the cable through and around my travel bags… On the assumption that it’ll take somebody at least a minute to figure it out, and by then hopefully I’ll be seeing them! Obviously if you had a good set of bolt cutters you can get through this cable very quickly … But honestly, what do you want? If someone is truly determined to steal what you have locked up it’s probably going to happen. I like these locks.

Locks and cables as advertised. Were NOT keyed alike.
The locks and cables came in one zip lock bag per set (no branded packaging). The lock is easy to install on the cable. There is a Velcro strap included with each set to help keep the cables neat when not in use.On major disappointment was that the locks were NOT keyed alike as advertised. This was one of the reasons for selecting this seller. Not worth the hassle to exchange it, since these cables weigh quite a bit. Also, I have other Master locks, including Python cable locks purchased very recently from a local retailer. Those keys have a plastic head cover and are made of steel. These keys do not (all brass). Also, the lock heads are not as well finished compared to what I have. Makes you go hmm, but it works as advertised. I did not take off stars for this.
