Great buy for a 1-br 1-bath home where humidity/mold is problematic!
Bottom line: for a one bedroom apartment, this thing works great but you need to buy a separate garden hose to drain the unit. For anything bigger than an efficiency one-bedroom place, buy a second humidifier and have one at each side of the house. (i.e. one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen.)I live in a small-ish apartment in Seattle WA, with one small bedroom, one bathroom, one small living room, and a small kitchen. The humidity outdoors here is usually at least 70%. Indoors, depending on the temperature, the humidity can get up to 95% which is very uncomfortable for living and breathing. I set this up on a shelf above my toilet, with a garden hose (purchased separately) to empty into the bathtub. REMEMBER to place the machine ABOVE whatever you're draining it into or else it will drain backwards out of the hose and make a mess. If you're not using the hose drain method but instead you are using the attached tank, you can just put it on the floor and it will be fine. I set it at a constant 40% humidity target; it keeps the bathroom pretty close to that within half an hour of taking a long shower. It keeps the rest of the house at 50% or lower all year, too. It does make a little noise when it is operating, but compared to other models I've tried it is relatively quiet. Just don't put it in the room where you sleep. It has several operating options which are discussed in the manual. There are two basic operating modes: let it run without a hose and it has an internal tank (about 5 gallons) that will fill up QUICKLY. Probably three times a day at least. When it is full, the float sensor turns the machine off and you have to manually remove the tank, empty it, and re-install it. The other mode requires you to buy a separate hose. The included tube is plastic, only about a foot long, and it has an included adapter to plug it into the nozzle that would normally drain into the tank. Then the water will bypass the tank and go wherever you aim the tube. That adapter only fits this type of tube, it will not fit a garden hose or any kind of screw-on connector. You can shove the last eight inches of the tube down the throat of a standard garden hose and it should be a tight fit that will hold just from friction. Or you can buy an additional adapter kit to screw a garden hose onto one end and plug the other end into the included plastic tube. I just stuff the tube into a garden hose, it stays put no problem and i still have about four inches of plastic tube above the hose.

... of moisture out of my rv in a day like advertised but unfortunatly it may have pulled 21 ounces ...
I bought this hopeing it would pull an actual 21 pints of moisture out of my rv in a day like advertised but unfortunatly it may have pulled 21 ounces not even 2 pints in a 24 hour petiod and my rv is at almost 95% humidity even the tray barely holds a quart so i give it 2 stars cuz it does work brtter than a evadry but does Not do as advertised .

Glad to have this dehumidifier
We've only had our Eurgeen dehumidifier for a few days, but are really impressed with it. It is lighter and easier to move around than the usual big guys. Customer service has been very quick to answer any of our questions that the manual didn't, and we feel we have a very efficient little machine. Glad we have it.

Does not turn off after set time
The unit does dehumidify but will not turn off when it reaches the set time. I can't have this running all the time because of my application; it has to stay within %RH limits. Also the humidity reading way off (according to my 2 hygrometers) and so it won't turn off when the actual %RH is reached.Occasionally the unit made squeaky noises.I bought the extended warranty thinking I'd need it after a year so hopefully I can get that refunded.
