They are packs of powder that dissolve, almost instantly when you put them in contact with water inside the fly trap.

Q: how often do you change the attractant?

We had so many flies that it filled up quickly and we had to change it within 2 weeks. But now that the masses of flies are down, it is lasting longer.

Q: Is it odorless or how strong of an odor is it compared to other water activated traps?

All baits have an odor , but the individual drop in baits , I use them in the ranch traps and they do not stink the way the despsosible bags do , not even close .
