My wife has a lot of projects in our backyard and they require a long-term extension cord usage. These cords are left outside for long periods of time in all sorts of weather. Because of that I’ve made sure to buy things and products like this to protect the connection between the extension cords. Products like these add to the longevity of the expensive extension cords that I buy for my wife. These are of a decent quality and they look halfway decent. So far these particular ones are pretty waterproof and weatherproof. They provide great electrical connection protection.

Purchased these to waterproof electrical connections for heated chicken and bunny waterers used over the Winter months. Prior to using these safety covers, I was having problems with snow and water getting to the plugs and causing GFI outlets to trip. This would cut the power to the heated waterers and subject the water to freeze in subzero temps, endangering the animals relying on the water heaters for hydration. These safety covers are extremely easy to use...just center the electrical plugs inside the compartment, press the cords into the crimps, and snap shut. The only real drawback is the small plastic latches on the outside break off very easily, with minimal effort. That being said, the safety covers still work fine if one of the plastic latches break. You can throw these onto the ground and let snow pile up over them and never worry about your plugs getting wet/corroded or tripping a GFI outlet. Overall, these safety covers work well for keeping water off of 2 or 3-prong plugs used on extension cords. If you want to double the protection, coat the male and female plugs with Corrosion-X and you'll never have water problems or electrical shorts that can trip off a GFI outlet. Docked a star because the small plastic latches on the outside break too easily.
