I assume this tool will crimp stainless steel cable ends?

Why can i pull battery terminals off of the 4awg wire right after crimping them with this tool? It's just pinching them a little, not crimping them.

Are you replacing terminals on factory cables that came in the vehicle? If so, the cables may be SAE rather than AWG. This makes more difference for some wire sizes than others. It's definitely a problem I've had crimping other types of terminals onto smaller gauge factory wires with other types of crimping tools. 4 ga SAE is 19 mm3, while 4 AWG is 21.15 mm3. I don't know how much difference that would make with this tool. I had no trouble crimping true 4 AWG terminals onto true 4 AWG cable using the supplied 4 AWG dies. The tool stopped just short of closing completely and refused to budge further, and the crimps were good. Some people have reported using the next smaller die size.

will it crimp 3/16 cable for home gym?

3/16 cable is the equivalent of a 6 gauge wire. So, the answer is yes. It is also mentioned on the Amazon item information chart.

will it crimp 3/16 stainless cable?

It presses with 10 tons of pressure. If you are going to make a loop in the cable then I would braid it. If you don’t know how to braid a loop then don’t do it. If you do then this should work nicely
