Use your own screws and these are perfect
We are on our second set of these brackets, having used them at a previous residence for a couple of years.I never had any issues with our brackets becoming hardened and breaking, although living in Southern California, I imagine we don't experience some of the temperature extremes people do elsewhere (even though it seems we all probably run our air/heat and keep inside temps relatively the same, no?)Yes, the screws are made from a cheap metal, which really makes little sense because they'll pop in two in stud. After initial frustration when I first bought the brackets I ran down to the home improvement store and picked up a package of small screws and used those instead, and drilled lead holes, and have had no problems. As far as holes in your furniture are concerned, I figure it's a small price to pay for safety. We've also used these straps to loop around items so we don't have to drill into them, with great success.Personally, I do NOT use these brackets on anything truly heavy. They're great for smaller items, particularly those you might need to move from time to time to clean underneath, vacuum under, etc. The brackets are hard enough to get off that my children have never been able to remove them, but easy enough that I don't avoid moving our nightstands, toy organizers, dollhouse, etc. in order to get the area nice and clean. If you're looking to secure something mid-weight, I highly recommend the KidCo furniture straps. For heavyweight items I love using the Quakehold! furniture straps (which don't have to be screwed into your furniture, but can be if you prefer).Growing up in SoCal and living through several big earthquakes and as a mother of three children (one of which seems to be part monkey) I've found that there's no single product that is going to secure everything in your house, but I definitely keep these brackets around as part of my furniture securing "kit".

Does the job, but you may need to improvise
Having seen multiple news-program coverage of children being injured by falling furniture and flat-panel televisions, I was amazed when I checked my local Home Depot and Lowe's, and nobody seemed to have any idea about whether they carried anti-tip kits, even after I described exactly what they do and how they work.I ordered this kit hoping it would do the job, and it seemed like the best bang-for-the-buck. It arrived yesterday, and I installed it on one shelf last night. So, here's the deal. What you're really after is the brackets you attach to the wall and the shelf. This kit provides that. They also provide straps and screws for installation. However, other reviewers have said the straps become hard and crumble after a year or two - time will tell. I will check them every couple months and replace with zip ties if needed. The screws...first, let me say I am a pretty handy person. Even with applying very good force, the first screw stripped out, and the second broke in half when screwed halfway in - and I pre-drilled holes! So, here's the verdict: Not all the items provided in the kit are perfect. However, the little plastic brackets are something I have not found anywhere except with a couple pieces of new furniture. That's all I really care about, as I don't mind using my own screws or zip ties later if need be. So, I'm rating the product mainly on the brackets, as my experience with the secondary bits suggests they're not to hot. Good luck!

Affordable Way to Keep Your Child Safer
When I was ready to put my son in his own room when he reached the age of 2, I wanted something to bolt the dresser to the wall. I have read horrible stories of kids getting hurt or killed when they tried to climb up a dresser and the dresser falling over on them. The same goes for bookshelves, and bookshelves are even easier to climb up than dressers. I looked everywhere but could not find these at my local stores, so I ordered them online.I am very pleased with my purchase of this product from Amazon. The shipping was fast and they arrived in a well put together package. These were very affordable and my husband was able to install them in just a few minutes. The dresser did not rock or move at all once these were installed and I felt very safe allowing my son to play in his room independently without me. I would recommend this product for any parent who wants to make sure their children are safe from heavy furniture, and it would even make a great baby shower gift or a grandparent purchase if they kept the child at their house often.I definitely think this is a must have for little ones, especially the precocious ones who like to climb all over everything. If I had more dressers or bookshelves that my son was around, I would have bought many more of these to secure everything to the wall. Affordable and would buy again.

Second time to order
I really like these furniture anchors, and this is my second time to order this product. The pieces that attach to the wall and the piece of furniture are the same, so you don't have to worry about putting the "right" piece in the right place. They're not too big, so I've never found a problem attaching them to furniture, even the storage cubes from ClosetMaid. The "zip ties" that attach the anchors are strong, but can be released so you can use them again. I also like that you can adjust the distance allowed from the wall. We end up with cords and plugs behind furniture, and it helps a lot to be able to adjust for those things. The only thing I don't like is the screws. The heads seem to strip very easily. But we've moved a lot the past few years, so mine have had a lot of wear and tear. I'll keep using the same brackets, I'll just end up buying a box of screws at the hardware store to replace the ones that came with this set.Overall, I'm very pleased with this product - I've purchased two sets - and the only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is the screws.

Did the job.
They were easy enough to install and so far have held strong.

Uses zip ties to secure
Uses zipties, so once installed you have To cut the zip ties to move the furniture and then reinstall it when you move it back. So, not great for furniture that needs to be cleaned behind or toys drop behind often hahaa

A great safety system
A great system that's not going to leave unsightly marks on your wall and furniture (assuming you install it right) just a small unobtrusive plastic fitting. Using plastic ties makes it easy to remove and re-install.I searched for this type of device after receiving a similar fitting with some furniture from John Lewis.I took the advice of previous reviews and used my own screws (it does not come with wall plugs), something I generally do for fixings.

If you have kids in the house, please install these on anything that can possibly tip.
I searched through a ton of options before deciding on these ones. They're strong, easy to install and they work really well. Just make sure you have a stud finder, drill and the skill set to drill some holes, screw in some screws and make sure they're in there properly and securely.

Great little gadget
Perfect little gadget to stop bedside cabinet drawers from tipping over. So easy to install after drilling the wall and inserting raw plugs.Invisible to see, so very happy with this safe little device.
