Better than other so far
I have a 2013 Ford Explorer XLT with 165k that I bought new. The factory camera quit working after 6 years and 120k miles. The Ford dealer wanted $700 to replace. I decided to purchase a third party camera from the worlds biggest auction site for $89 and tried it out. I lost the grid lines and the quality was horrible with a fish eye view on the screen. I decided to just roll with it because at least I could see behind me now. I also know I could have taken it to a dealer or downloaded FORScan and reprogrammed with an ODB II interface to get the grid lines back but it wasn’t that big of a deal to me. That camera lasted about 2.5 years and 40k miles and here I go again replacing the camera.I had three options here, 1) buy a Ford OEM camera for $550 through the dealer and replace it myself since I now have experience doing this. Thanks to an excellent YouTube video on how to replace it yourself. 2) buy another cheap camera from the worlds largest auction website or 3). Buy this camera, Spend a little more than the cheap auction site cameras but nowhere near as much as an OEM camera from the dealer. I decided on option 3.The install was easy again and it is working great after two days. My gridlines are back - I didn’t do any reprogramming - and this camera seems to be much higher quality with a wider view than the last one. So far I’m very pleased. If the camera has a shorter life or I have issues with it say..within a year or so, I’ll come back and note it on this review. So far so good on this one and much better quality than the cheaper ones out there.

Buy this! Don’t buy others.
Image on my 14’ Explorer’s camera was reversed or blacked out at times so I took it to the dealership for diagnostic. Dealer stated camera needed to be replaced (for $700 😳😳😳) so after searching the Internet and reading reviews I saw that this was a great replacement. I read on other cheaper cameras the pictures had curved lines so I steered away from them. Took my husband only about 15 minutes to change it out. Easy peasy! This by far is the best. Closest to my original Ford camera. Thanks!

Excellent and easy replacement.
A few months ago the backup image went black or would display inverted. The dealership will likely quote you $700 - $800 to replace the camera to address the issue. This cost 1/4 the price and took me around 20 minutes to complete. Just watch a video on YouTube and it will be one of the easiest fixes ever. I don’t see any issues with the picture quality and the backup lines are as expected. Great purchase.

Disappointed Poor quality display. Display very grainy
Wonder if anyone else has experienced this. The display is very poor quality. The picture is very grainy. I wouldn’t have expected this from a 200.00 purchase. If all you want Is a working camera I would recommend but if you want a good picture don’t buy it. Very disappointed.

Works well so far. Would recommend
My truck was not as easy to work on as some- Wisconsin weather on my 2013 has helped with some rust and corrosion where other people didn’t have it, but I was able to replace the camera- lit up right away, seems to work well so far. A little weirder picture than the original Ford camera- more of a “fish bowl” lense- but nothing I’m worried about. I’m glad I took other people’s recommendations and took this route. Saved me 200 bucks and a trip to the dealership.
