Fits under my case perfectly
I'm so glad that I bought this lens mount for my ShiftCam lens. It made it so easy to attach the lens without having to adjust a clip-on. I used it at the BTS Permission to Dance concert with a ShiftCam telephoto lens and got great results! I just leave the lens mount in place. It protects my lenses and I never have to hunt for it.

Completely made with plastic!
The image on the web and box showed that there is a metal screw ring. This is the second time I got it thinking that the first one might be a batch defect. However the second one I got is completely the same! The first one mount wore out so quickly I could barely keep the lens on. What’s the point of spending over $150+ on the lens set if you get $11 made from cheap plastic that wears out so quickly!

No metal ring!!! It’s all plastic
The picture shows a metal screw ring in the plastic but the one I got is all plastic… wish it was like the one in picture

Nobody makes 12mm threaded lenses
This will not fit the standard 17 mm lens size which is sold universally on Amazon. This is a proprietary format exclusive to shiftcam and unfortunately all the other lenses are out of stock permanently.. this is for a much smaller tgread , 12 mm!

Four stars until they update their product image...
I decided to write a review because I believe this is a solid product but the fact that the threads are not metal as shown did throw me off at first until I thought about why this might be the case.First of all the product works perfectly from my testing. I have driven with quite a heavy wide-angle lens without any issues at all. I like the idea of the threads being plastic now because if anyone has ever threaded something you know threads can get damaged especially metal on metal and the last thread you want to be damaged are those on your lens.If you do not align the threads perfectly you will damage either the threads on your case adaptor or lens or both and this would be catastrophic and I bet you it happened much more often than we can imagine causing RMA nightmares for the manufacturer simply because they offered threads on the case adaptor without considering the care required to match and thread these perfectly each time.If you only threaded the lens once and left it on your camera this would not be an issue. But you cannot keep a huge lens on your phone because it is a multipurpose appliance, not a professional camera.
