Initially I thought the palette was garbage because the first set arrived cracked and in pieces. I took a chance and accepted the replacement which surprisingly was much better. I had a few pans with cracks but it wasn’t too bad so my opinion improved. I tested almost all of the colors making swatches & the paint was decent. A week or so later I opened the paints to use them again and a good majority of them were cracked and in pieces! They were in small crumbles and I had a mess on my hands. Do NOT purchase this item if you plan to use more than once. This was a big disappointment!! Too bad my window to return has closed!

This kit is really cool. Having all these colors in a kit the size of a hand is great for anyone who has to have his watercolor on the go. The pancake is thin and not removable (except the glitter colors). It looks to be about half pan flatten out, which is enough to last for small scale study. Having the color indicated sure does help me to identify color in a pinch. If a frequent used color runs out, I can put in the same color from the tube and let it flatten and dry out. This is the beauty of watercolor. Acrylic if dried is doomed LOLThe brush pen is size 6 I think; Adequate but subpart.The palette section is not big (of course). One long rectangular is a glued on sponge (like the dense sponge to blend liquid foundation on face). If using more colors or color blending, lots of kitchen paper towels shall be needed.Paint quality most likely is student grade. The best thing about this set is its portability. And having a large paint receptacle is good for ppl who use larger brushes. Just bring 2 water cups and paper towels and you can paint everywhere.

I like the palette style, but after searching them the paints cracked and flaked when they dried, falling out of the pans when next I opened it. I contacted the seller but have had no response yet.

Some of the paints were chipped in the pans but that wasn't a problem. I just kept the chips in their correct pans, added a drop of water to each, and brushed the paint until they melted together again.I didn’t want to waste the paint on the brush between colors, so I made colorful shapes with each before cleaning the brush and fixing the next color.Once all the chips were fixed, I just kept blending more colors.I wish the metallic paints had as much as the others but again, the value for what you get is great.
