Wonderful files
I love love love these baby files. I bought them for grand babies. I love the size and how they do not tear up the nail like sandpaper emery boards. I like the small size for my personal use and I bought another order for myself.

Must Have for Scratchers
I'm convinced these are the only reason my son hasn't scarred his face or blinded himself yet. He scratched his own face continually in the first 6 months and still gets the inside shell of his ear pretty frequently. I knew from the moment he didn't flinch away from sticking his fingers on his eyeballs that keeping his nails short and smooth was going to be important, but everything I knew to try didn't work well on baby nails. They weren't hard enough for clippers to work, nail scissors require an insane amount of coordination to use well, and nail sanders meant for babies just shredded the nail instead of cutting or smoothing. We're only just now starting to be able to use clippers at age 1, but up until now these glass files are the only thing that worked. I suggest smoothing across the nail from side to side until the length is gone and then going perpendicular to the edge to smooth off the sharpness. It's what's worked best for me. I learned all sorts of kind of useless stuff in preparation for birth and parenthood, but not one person mentioned these files or the best way to use them and I feel like this is essential information.

Safe for little fingers
First time mom here. The day my little one was born she immediately scratched her face. I've had her in mitten cuffs onsies since then, but figured at some point I would need to do something about those claws. But staring at those little fingers, how am I supposed to cut those!? They are so tiny! I saw one of the nurses use an emery board on her in the hospital, so that's what I decided to search for. These arrived today and I just used them while she was sleeping. I won't say it was super easy, but her nails are definitly shorter and smoother. 17 days old and we found a workable solution! For now anyway. I'll still be using mitten cuffs onsies as long as I can find some that fit her.

Good alternative to nail clippers for newborn
After accidentally snipping my baby's finger with the Frida nail clippers, I tried these glass files. They work surprisingly well, and quickly. I like that the file is not abrasive against the baby's skin--the texture is sort of like those slightly textured glass stones you find on beaches. They are also small enough for my two-month-old's hands. For those sharp corners that remain, I use the Piyo Piyo nail scissors which are awesome, but sometimes the baby will not stay still enough for me to use the scissors. In those cases, I use the file to get the nails shortened, then follow up with scissors to get those corners.

Baby files
These worked great to file down my newborns nails. I was afraid to us the clippers so I bought these oysters. I feel like compared to the disposable baby Emory boards these are better. They file but the grit isn’t too much! I like how it comes with 3 i keep one in the diaper bag, another in her nursery, and the last on her diaper cart in the living room.

Just okay
This were not my favorite. I bought them to use on my sons fingernails in the hospital when he was born, as their nails are so sharp. However, the file is thick and hard to get a good angle to use. Also the file didn’t do well on his nails at all. I ended up purchasing the Fridababy ones that are just plain, thin regular curved ones which are similar to the ones I used when my daughter was born which worked great.

These are great. I’ve had them for years and use them myself too.
