It’s a little smoky or more than I anticipated, But the quality of it is amazing
It smells good, a little bit strong but it’s long lasting. But your beard feels amazing for hours. And it’s actually kind of nice to just put on. That’s how smooth this stuff feels

and thus far it remains my favorite. The hold is about as good as others ...
I've been experimenting with growing my beard out longer than usual lately, and, as a result, have been experimenting with a few different brands of beard balm. This is the first one I tried, and thus far it remains my favorite. The hold is about as good as others marketed as heavy duty, which is to say it helps tamp down my frizzy beard pretty well in the morning, and softens things it up nicely. Really the stand out feature of this balm is the scent. As both positive and negative reviews have noted it's relatively potent, compared to other balms that fade completely within 30 minutes. With the Rocky Mountain Barber Sandalwood blend there's a notable scent for a few hours. My impression from the other reviews is that your opinion comes down to whether or not you like the scent. My wife and I do. I'm not sure I'd identify it as sandalwood if sampling blind, but it is pleasant. My wife has said that it has a strong vanilla note for what that's worth. In any event, we both like it, and thus this balm is a hit here.

Combine the scented and unscented.
The sandalwood is far too strong on its own. Your coworkers will smell the sandalwood. The unscented is very bland with an odd wax sort of scent. If you can find a larger tin or reuse your tins. Slowly double boil a scented and the u scented balms in to one. (Yes you have to buy one of each) The combination of scented and unscented is perfect. Not too strong but still pleasant. The balm itself spreads through the beard very nicely and keeps shape well. It tames morning beard with no problems. I straighten my beard as well as my mustache with it. Over all the products are great. Especially once you make your own combination of the two. The combined tins usually last me around six months give or take.

Among the best beard product
Every time I try other beard products, I end back with this brand. I have used it every time I grow my beard. I really like the scents offered and this product leaves my beard looking good and the hair softer each and every time!

Eh
Smells great, about half the hold strength and quantity for same price as Shea Moisture beard balm I got from Target.

Balm softens beard, but lacks smell of Sandalwood.
I had been getting into beard care products. It is an ok product, it takes very little to soften your beard. After using more consistently I noticed that mine does not smell of sandalwood. The smell is lacking of sandalwood. Like they forgot to add the smell. I noticed after using My Rocky Mountain Sandalwood shaving cream and tRocky Mountain Sandalwood aftershave and both products smell of sandalwood. But not the beard balm.

Lasting Aroma on a Longer Beard
I purchased RMBC Sandlewood Beard Balm soon after it was released. For the first time I decided to grow my beard out longer than a few weeks worth of growth, always hesitating because of how scraggly I get. While this doesn't paste every last hair down, I have noticed significant improvement as I train it all and the balm helps keep things in place through the evening. I've been applying about a thumbnails worth at a time, I suppose it would manage more mischief if more balm was used. I'm new to the world of nice woodsy scented products and I love this Sandlewood. It does go on a little stronger in the morning, but as the day progresses a pleasant calming aroma drifts into my nose. I have used a few other sample products from other companies, and the scent of this balm outlasts those by a hours. All told, I'd say the scent lasts 12-13 hours. In a less pleasant assessment that is, however, worth mentioning, the flakey dry skin that used to fall from my un-balmed beard is no longer an embarrassing feature on the front of a black winter coat. Remember what this product is made of, you will feel a bit of the residue if you rub your beard all day, but it's not excessive.

Easiest beard balm to spread
RMB makes the easiest to spread beard balm. Most of the other brands the balm is a lot firmer and takes longer to get into a consistency able to be used on your beard. The RMB balms are ready in a couple second and go in easily with a good smell and all day taming of those fly away hairs.

I love using this Sandalwood Beard Balm. It keep my beard in place, Keeps it soft and healthy. - This is one of the best beard balms out there, it smells amazing, strong manly masculine sandalwood scent. - I love using this daily on my beard, it gives a nice healthy shine and I know based on the ingredients I'm using a clean and safe product on my face. - My beard growth improved a lot since using this product, I got super strong beard that's thick, robust and black. - The balm comes in a nifty little 2 oz round tin. It seems small but trust me this thing will last you a good couple of months even with daily use. - A single thumb nail size is all that's needed, rub in with the fingers and then massage into the beard. Style and done. Simple! - Note: Sandalwood is a strong scent, for some it takes some time getting used to. I prefer using this when I'm at home as not to offend anyone as the scent is strong and long lasting. I recommend this sandalwood beard balm for strong, shiny, soft and healthy looking beard. Great quality product and value for money. Also as a Canadian company I am proud of the quality products produced by Rocky Mountain Barber Company 5.0 Stars. iNiko

The balm is just too hard. Takes ages to work. Their oil is much better

First time really growing my beard out. Just under a year. So learning about what products to use and what works for me ect. I’ve had some balms that came in kits but I don’t find them to be a quality product usually. What a difference products can be by different brands. As a balm. This is my favourite so far. I’d like to try the scented cedarwood. So far I’m sticking to this balm. The oil is good too and I ended up swapping the tincture top for a pump. Easier and cleaner. I don’t find balm holds great but I guess it depends on how much hold you need. Death grip mustache wax is amazing for styling though. This balm also gives a nice shine. Not greasy and great smell

After much research, my first purchase of a beard care product for my new beard was Rocky Mountain Barber Co. Cedarwood Beard Oil and Cedarwood Beard Balm. Deciding factors were the all natural ingredients, the range of essential oils they use, the high ratings of users, that they are Canadian, and their pricing. As for the product in use, I like that they use an "eye dropper" bottle for the oil, the oil absorbs well and, after excess is rubbed through hair and then onto my arms, there is no oily excess remaining on my hands. Same for excess balm, which is not at all "greasy". The balm seems to have a very low melting point, making application easy. While I found the oil's scent mild, cedary, and very pleasant, it was not so much so with the balm. Although not an unpleasant scent, I couldn't pick out any cedar wood scent. I also found it strong. I reminded myself that I haven't worn any scents in decades so applying the balm to the hair under my nostrils would be strong. My spouse quite liked the scent and had to get close to smell it. The balm doesn't mat down my stray, wiry hairs. It's not supposed to: while it contains beeswax, it is not "a wax". It does provide mild control and it and the oil do soften the hairs and take great care of my skin. When it was time to get more balm, I had come to quite like the scent and decided to get more Rocky Mountain Cedarwood. However, I mistakenly ordered Sandalwood. A happy mistake, it smells great! It is also a much stronger and longer-lasting scent than the Cedarwood. The Sandalwood does have added natural sandalwood scent. E-mailing the company, I learned that the added scent is < 1% of the volume of the balm and is added because the scent of the essential oil was found to be too mild. I think they could probably half the added scent. Rocky Mountain was very generous in helping me correct my mistaken order. When my Cedarwood balm arrived, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it had a very nice and definite cedar wood scent. While I expect that I will sample other companies' beard oils and balms, I will definitely continue to use Rocky Mountain's products.

My beard is around 2 inches long right now. I used a beard oil from a different company sold at Tommy Guns in Canada, while it smelled amazing. My beard was still dry and got itchy. So I decided to try a beard balm. Bought 2 tins of this. After 2 days my girlfriend couldn’t believe how much softer my beard was. I love the scent. It’s honestly amazing. The ingredients are safe, and the company is Canadian. It’s a win win
