Spot Spreader 80 oz Handheld Shake Dispenser for Salt, Seed, Grass and Garden Multiple Sized Openings for a Variety of Uses

We recently had a doozy of a winter storm and this tool came in handy for spreading ice melt. Great for treating sidewalks and drive ways when you don't need a large rolling spreader. Has differnt size holes to control the flow. You can also close the holes and use the lid with it's handle to scoop the product and fill it's container.

Liked the different opening choices. The lip on the pitcher allowed me to spread the ice melt a far distance using the largest opening. Worked well.I did not like the fact that the instruction sheet was inside. I could not figure out how to open the dispenser. On my second attempt the next day I finally opened it and read the instructions. A sticker on the outside would be much better.

I really want to like this device, since it attempts to solve a problem (safely and evenly spreading ice melt), but I have mixed feelings. The container itself seems study, but holding it by its handle when full leaves a noticeable gap in between the body and the cap. This appears to be because the handle is attached the the cap itself instead of the body. It would feel more stable if the cap twisted onto the body more securely or if the handle was attached directly to the body. Additionally, the handle itself is quite uncomfortable to hold due to the rigidness of the plastic, but this can be solved with tape or a grip. Besides these minor qualms, it does work as advertised and spreads ice melt conveniently and evenly, and has an adequate storage capacity.

So far this does the job. I've spread epsom salt to deter a groundhog. I've used it to spread fertilizer and worm casings on my garden beds. I haven't used it for winter salting yet. The holes haven't been that important. And the opening and closing it where it gets awkward, especially since the handle is attached to the lid. It isn't seamless. It doesn't always go on and off smoothly, especially when it has debris around it. All in all though, I am happy with the product and, it has been extremely useful.

I’m glad I purchased this. I salt my neighbors driveway as well as ours, this is lightweight, easy to use. Well worth the money. I ordered 2 of them so I don’t have to keep refilling.
